Diagnose malfunctions and perform basic repairs on all types of equipment (e.g., pump and motor replacement), plumbing (e.g., unclogging toilets and drains), electrical components including light bulbs, cosmetic items, extension cords, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, switch and outlet replacements, and other guest room items. Program televisions and perform general maintenance and engineering-related tasks. Assist with surface preparation and painting, minor drywall and woodwork repairs, light bulb and air conditioner filter replacements, and thorough cleaning of painting or repair areas. Use lockout/tagout procedures before performing maintenance work. Demonstrate practical knowledge of all engineering computer systems related to preventive maintenance, energy management, and other systems, including devices interfacing with such systems. Demonstrate average proficiency in diagnosing malfunctions in hotel mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems. Demonstrate ability to train and guide other engineers (e.g., Engineer I). Demonstrate ability to perform the duties of the On-Call Engineer, including readings and rounds. Comply with all company safety policies and procedures; report maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; and store flammable materials appropriately. Ensure both uniform and personal appearance are neat and professional; maintain property information confidentiality; and protect company assets. Welcome and recognize all guests according to company standards; anticipate guest service needs and fulfill them; assist guests with disabilities; and thank guests with genuine appreciation. Ensure quality expectations and standards are met.
