




Job Summary: We are seeking a Permit Supervisor to manage the organization, planning, and integration of resources for obtaining and maintaining operational permits, collaborating with technical and social areas. Supervises specialists and manages the permit budget Company Description Anglo American, in partnership with Mitsubishi Corporation, is developing the Quellaveco mining operation — one of the world’s largest copper deposits — located in the Moquegua region in southern Peru. Quellaveco has a 30-year reserve life. It will employ open-pit mining and flotation processes to produce copper concentrates, as well as molybdenum and silver as by-products. Quellaveco is expected to produce an average of 300,000 tonnes of copper per year during its first 10 years of operation. The position will be responsible for managing the organization, planning, integration, and resources required to obtain mine operational permits in a timely manner, integrating requirements from technical, operations, and social areas. It will also ensure the continued validity of granted permits. **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:** * Collaborate with the Superintendent of Permits and Compliance in developing the permit strategy, considering: identification of permits and associated technical and legal requirements; sequence, timeliness, and deadlines for activities requiring permits. * Develop and update the permit acquisition plan, aligned with project schedules and contract scope. * Monitor permits under processing with authorities and participate in meetings. * Disseminate outcomes of permit processing/acquisition. * Ensure the project’s digital tool and permit matrix remain up to date. * Maintain the Permit and Compliance Superintendent’s permit management plan up to date. * Ensure validity, maintenance, and renewal of granted permits and associated agreements. * Proactively communicate with Project Controls and the Permit Compliance Supervisor regarding permit-related activities, schedules, and conditions. * Keep the Superintendent of Permits and Compliance informed of permit management progress through participation in periodic meetings and reporting. * Respond to reviewers’ and auditors’ requests and prepare reports for the business unit and the corporation. * Supervise permit specialists’ work and effectively allocate resources according to operational priorities. * Keep Quellaveco’s Permit Procedures up to date. * Review Anglo American’s Permit Standard when required. * Efficiently manage the assigned permit budget. **SHE FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** * Know and apply Anglo American Quellaveco’s SHE values, principles, and policy, contributing to its vision of Zero Harm. * Comply with, and ensure compliance with, legal requirements and other commitments assumed by Anglo American Quellaveco, as well as standards, procedures, and internal regulations of the Management System; and attend training, awareness, and Zero Harm culture-building meetings. * Ensure that control measures for identified SHE hazards and risks are implemented at the workplace to enable safe work. * Promptly report unsafe acts and conditions, as well as incidents. * Ensure continuous improvement in Safety, Health, and Environmental Management. Requirements **EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS** * Degree in Environmental Engineering, Law, Mining Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields. * Intermediate level English proficiency. **EXPERIENCE** * Minimum of 5 years in similar roles within mining and/or energy companies and/or consulting firms. * Experience in negotiations and processing of licenses and permits for mining projects and operations. * Experience managing Peru’s regulatory framework for mining operational permits. * Desirable experience in developing or implementing EIAs (Environmental Impact Assessments) in Peru. * Required experience in managing operational permits (sectoral permits). * Demonstrated track record of interaction and influence across all levels of colleagues, and coordination of disciplines related to permits. **RELEVANT INFORMATION** * Base: Lima * Work schedule: 5 days on / 2 days off * Contract type: Temporary, for 8 months * Application deadline: 19/05/2026 Additional Information Our company is our people, and we have no doubt about our top priority: doing everything we can to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our workers.
