**Job Description**
**Mission:**
Collaborate and support projects carried out by your unit/department, in accordance with directives provided by your supervisor, to execute assigned tasks and meet internal customer needs.
This subfunction is responsible for all activities related to employee safety and health. Its activities include: identification and assessment of occupational accident and disease risks; risk control in the work environment or means of work; prevention training and dissemination of the importance of such prevention; information recording and analysis; and technical advice and support to company employees. Prevent damage to workers’ health arising from their occupational activities.
**Candidate Requirements**
**Responsibilities:**
* Identify, analyze, prevent, intervene in, and evaluate occupational health risks present in workplaces that may affect workers’ health.
* Design, implement, and periodically evaluate the occupational health management system in coordination with the SSTMA Manager and approved by the GG, aiming to prevent occupational diseases caused by working conditions and occupational hazards across various job positions.
* Evaluate occupational risks at job positions.
* Establish the occupational health baseline.
* Develop the annual occupational health program.
* Prepare and review medical examination protocols (pre-employment, periodic, and exit) in accordance with the IPERC.
* Participate in the evaluation, diagnosis, preventive actions, follow-up, and reporting of work-related accidents, occupational diseases, or work-related illnesses.
* Record, monitor, and track cases of occupational diseases, work-related illnesses, and/or those resulting from work accidents.
* Manage results, monitoring, and follow-up of occupational medical examinations.
* Analyze pre-employment, periodic, exit, and other medical examinations while maintaining confidentiality of results.
* Timely communicate, where applicable, any work restrictions identified for a worker to their immediate supervisors for appropriate follow-up.
* Prepare statistical summaries related to occupational health management and communicate them to the SSTMA Manager for awareness and corresponding support.
* Implement appropriate health actions for personnel who have suffered a work accident or present a health issue at work, ensuring primary care to stabilize and/or provide first aid to the worker.
* Activate the SCTR in coordination with personnel present at the scene (supervisor, resident engineer of the area, safety engineer, etc.) and indicate appropriate care measures for transporting the injured worker to a healthcare center or office, as applicable.
* Monitor and track the health evolution of personnel with health issues, medical leave, or medical restrictions until their official discharge by their treating physician, and report any irregularities to the relevant management and Social Welfare Department for appropriate support.
* Continuously monitor and follow up on cases affecting workers’ health, whether due to work accidents, occupational diseases, or work-related illnesses.
* Notify, via email, the relevant manager, Coordinating Engineer, Resident Engineer, SSTMA Manager, and Social Worker—as applicable—regarding the worker’s return to work or continuation of medical treatment.
* Coordinate with the Social Welfare Department to ensure the worker submits original documents (physical and digital) for medical leave and supporting evidence (medical prescriptions, imaging tests, etc.), communicating the worker’s health status.
* Appropriately request and manage medications, supplies, equipment, and other resources deemed necessary to provide primary care or first aid to workers.
* Maintain records, monitoring, and medical follow-up for all workers involved in work accidents, occupational diseases, or work-related illnesses, to report recurring incidents and/or workers repeatedly involved in such events, thereby determining actions to protect worker health.
* Schedule and conduct occupational health training sessions.
* Advise various company departments on occupational health matters.
* Cooperate with any investigation aimed at preventing accidents or their recurrence.
* Comply with the Internal Work Regulations and the Occupational Safety and Health Regulations, implementing appropriate preventive and corrective actions to ensure compliance.
* Perform other duties or activities as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
**Requirements:**
* **Academic Qualification:** Licensed, registered with the Medical Board, and authorized to practice.
* **Field of Study:** Human Medicine, Occupational Health Physician.
* **Relevant Experience:** Minimum three (3) years of experience in this role.
