Opportunity for candidates with or without prior experience. **JOB PROFILE: GROOMER (CANINE AND FELINE)** **Department:** Grooming / Pet Grooming **Reports to:** Grooming Manager / Administrator **Team members supervised:** None (occasional support from assistants) **Work schedule:** Full-time **Company type:** Veterinary clinic **OBJECTIVE** Execute comprehensive aesthetic, hygiene, and grooming services for dogs and cats, consistently prioritizing biosecurity, ethical treatment, and pet welfare to ensure patient satisfaction and hygiene. **FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES** **1\. Operational** · Perform complete grooming procedures: breed-standard or client-directed haircuts, bathing, brushing, de-shedding, ear cleaning, anal gland expression, and nail trimming. · Visually inspect the pet’s skin and general condition before and after service, immediately reporting any abnormalities or medical conditions to the Veterinarian or Grooming Manager. · Use work tools (clippers, scissors, dryers, cosmetic products) optimally and responsibly according to each pet’s needs. · Maintain continuous hygiene, order, and disinfection of the workstation, grooming table, bathtub, and tools between each client. **2\. Animal Handling and Safety** · Apply friendly handling techniques and stress-reduction methods throughout the grooming process. · Strictly adhere to biosecurity protocols to prevent infections or accidents within the facility. · Safely handle pets during drying and restraint to prevent falls or injuries. **3\. Support and Coordination** · Promptly notify the Grooming Manager or Administrator regarding shortages of supplies (shampoos, conditioners, clipper blades) or equipment malfunctions. · Assist in recording services rendered to each patient in the system or technical file. **4\. Client Service** · Deliver the pet to the owner in optimal hygienic and aesthetic condition. · Provide basic home maintenance and hygiene recommendations upon request. **REQUIREMENTS** **Education and Knowledge** · Certified courses or demonstrable technical training in canine and feline grooming. · Knowledge of coat types, cutting techniques (scissors and clippers), and handling of common and exotic breeds. · Proficiency in basic ethology (animal behavior) and fundamental first aid. **Experience** · With or without prior experience. In the absence of professional experience, submission of a portfolio showcasing academic practice, volunteer work, and strong willingness to learn under the Grooming Manager’s supervision will be valued. **Competencies** · Patience, empathy, and technical dexterity in animal handling. · Attention to detail and aesthetic finishing. · Teamwork ability and adaptability to workflow demands. · Punctuality, responsibility, and professional ethics.
