This role is ideal for someone with a strong database development background who can design, build, maintain, and optimize SQL solutions supporting large\-scale, business\-critical datasets. While database administration experience is valuable, the primary focus of this position is hands\-on database development, performance optimization, and data solution design. This is a full\-time position requiring 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., aligned with Texas business hours. **Location** Fully remote position within LATAM. **Contract Duration** Fixed\-term contract through December 31, 2026, approximately 3 to 4 months, with a strong possibility of renewal. **Language Requirement** Advanced English. **What you'll do** * Design, develop, maintain, and optimize database solutions using Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL Database. * Create and improve complex T\-SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, views, and database\-level business logic. * Analyze and optimize execution plans, indexes, queries, and overall database performance. * Troubleshoot slow queries, blocking, performance bottlenecks, and other database\-related issues. * Design and evolve database schemas and data models based on changing business requirements. * Develop and maintain processes for transforming, integrating, and moving data within SQL environments. * Work with large\-scale, high\-volume datasets that are central to business operations and digital products. * Help ensure the availability, integrity, quality, and efficiency of critical data. * Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable, and maintainable database solutions. **What you'll bring** * Senior\-level experience as a SQL Developer, Database Developer, Database Engineer, or in a hybrid SQL Developer/DBA role. * Strong professional experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL Database. * Advanced proficiency in T\-SQL, including complex queries, stored procedures, functions, and views. * Proven experience with query optimization and performance tuning in large databases. * Hands\-on knowledge of execution plans, indexing strategies, and database performance analysis. * Strong understanding of database design, data modeling, and schema evolution. * Experience developing data transformation, integration, or data movement processes in SQL environments. * Proven ability to troubleshoot slow queries, blocking, and other database performance issues. * Experience working with large\-scale or high\-volume datasets. * Professional experience within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem. * Advanced English communication skills. * Availability to work full\-time and align with Texas business hours. **What will make you stand out** * Experience working with databases and data products that have a direct impact on business operations or revenue. * A strong combination of database administration knowledge and hands\-on SQL development expertise. * Experience supporting data\-intensive platforms with demanding requirements for performance, availability, integrity, and quality. * Expertise in Azure services related to SQL, data storage, or data processing. * A proactive approach to identifying performance risks and improving database scalability before issues arise. **Why EX Squared?** At EX Squared, we believe in building strong, collaborative teams that create meaningful impact.
