Position Summary:
Supervise and ensure compliance with safety, occupational health, and environmental regulations, managing risks and training personnel in industrial plants.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manages safety, occupational health, and environmental (SSOMA) management
2. Supervises high-risk work and compliance with standards
3. Ensures worker protection and regulatory compliance
* Monitor compliance with the Safety, Occupational Health, and Environmental Management Plan.
* Participate in the development of the baseline IPERC and oversee its required updates.
* Supervise compliance with procedures, standards, and all high-risk work; in case of non-compliance, halt the activity until the observation is resolved. Advise the team on legal matters related to risk prevention.
* Train workers on SSOMA topics, inductions, and training sessions according to the program.
* Generate monthly SSOMA management reports, including accident indicators and incident reports.
* Verify that workers comply with safety standards, PETS, Safety, Health, Environment, Community, and Quality Policy, Alcohol and Drug Policy, Internal Work Regulations, Internal Occupational Safety and Health Regulations, and all directives issued by the Company.
* Take all precautions to protect workers, verifying and analyzing whether the risk assessment (ATS) conducted by workers in their work area has been fulfilled, to eliminate or minimize risks.
* Investigate situations deemed hazardous by a worker or a member of the Occupational Safety and Health Committee.
* Be responsible for one's own safety and that of workers under one's supervision, and act immediately upon being informed of any hazard—halting operations or work in high-risk situations until such hazardous conditions are eliminated or minimized.
* Verify that high-risk work procedures are followed, along with all safety analyses and safety measures appropriate to the activity.
* Supervise the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) for personnel and equipment protection (technical specifications and quality certifications).
* Supervise compliance with Water Quality Standards, Effluent Discharge Standards, and Receiving Body Standards (ECAS and LP), per the Environmental Management Plan, as well as compliance with permissible limits for gaseous emissions.
* Supervise implementation of the SSOMA Management System (integrated HSEC-PSMc corporate management system), policies, manuals, and internal safety regulations applicable to both internal and external personnel.
Requirements:
* Minimum 3 years of experience as an HSEC Supervisor, preferably in industrial plants.
* Experience supervising high-risk work.
* Education: Bachelor’s degree and/or professional title in chemical engineering, environmental engineering, industrial engineering, or related fields.
* Specialized training or studies in safety and environment, with a minimum duration of 120 hours.
* Knowledge of laws, decrees, and regulations related to safety and environment, and other relevant management standards.
* Knowledge of chemical processes.
