Unity Programming Intern – Pre-Professional Internship – Remote
Job Description
**Waffles Tech** is seeking a programming student interested in gaining practical experience in **Unity-based video game development**, by participating in a real project for **2 months**.
We are looking for someone with basic programming knowledge, eagerness to learn, and a portfolio that allows us to review their projects and skills.
The intern will receive **continuous guidance and mentorship from a senior programmer**, who will support development, code reviews, and technical problem-solving.
Job Information

* **Weekly Hours:** 15 hours per week
* **Meetings:** 3 meetings per week
* **Collaborative Work & Mentorship:** 6 hours per week
* **Independent Work:** 9 hours per week
* **Project:** Video game development
* **Economic stipend:** In accordance with applicable regulations for pre-professional internships
What You’ll Do:
* Support the development of game features.
* Program and test mechanics using Unity.
* Assist in integrating scenes, components, and resources.
* Conduct testing, bug fixes, and improvements.
* Support the lead programmer.
* Participate in code reviews.
* Assist in technical documentation for the project.
* Meet weekly goals and deliverables.
Mentorship and Learning
Throughout the internship, you will receive **direct mentorship from a senior programmer**.
Mentorship will cover:
* Unity and C\#.
* Best practices in programming.
* Code organization and structure.
* Version control.
* Problem solving.
* Video game development.
* Remote collaborative work.
* Technical documentation.
The goal is for you to **learn by doing**, working on a real project while receiving continuous feedback.
Requirements
* Currently enrolled in a program related to Programming, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Video Game Development, or similar fields.
* Basic programming knowledge.
* Knowledge of **C\#, C\+\+, Java, Python, JavaScript, or other programming languages** is a plus.
* Familiarity with Unity or willingness to learn Unity.
* **A portfolio of personal or academic projects required.**
* Portfolio may include academic projects, personal projects, video games, applications, prototypes, Game Jams, or works-in-progress.
* Prior work experience is not required.
* Ability to learn and accept feedback.
* Commitment to achieving weekly goals.
* Ability to work remotely.
About the Portfolio
**You do not need a professional portfolio.**
We want to understand what you have built and how you apply programming to solve problems.
You may submit:
* GitHub repositories
* University or institute projects
* Video games
* Applications
* Game Jams
* Prototypes
* Personal projects
* Projects still under development
Schedule Organization
Total commitment: **15 hours per week**.
**6 hours:** meetings, mentorship, and collaborative work.
**9 hours:** independent development and goal completion.
Goals will be defined weekly and reviewed with the team to assess project progress.
