Job Summary:
Provide technical support and after-sales service for the use of blasting services, explosives, and blasting accessories in mining.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate and optimize blasting operations in open-pit and underground mining.
2. Monitor, evaluate, and recommend improvements to blasting processes.
3. Control the quality and usage of explosives and blasting accessories.
Provide technical support and after-sales service for the proper handling, manipulation, and use of our blasting services, explosives, and blasting accessories, both in open-pit and underground operations.
**SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES**
* Coordinate with mine departments responsible for work assignment or area allocation to conduct follow-up, monitoring, evaluation, implementation, and recommendation of drill-and-blast patterns, aiming to optimize blasting performance indicators using our accessories and explosives.
* Enter the mine heading toward the work area(s) assigned by the responsible department, driving the company-assigned vehicle accompanied by designated personnel for site reconnaissance.
* Monitor, collect, and evaluate data from completed blasts prior to implementing recommendations, to identify errors and failures in personnel performance and in current or established blasting standards.
* Control the quality of explosives, including emulsion viscosity and density, and ammonium nitrate particle size distribution.
* Verify whether measured density values fall outside specified ranges and immediately notify the Field Supervisor.
* Prepare daily reports of density measurements conducted during the day and submit them to the Resident Engineer. d) Verify data transmission communication in the centralized blasting system.
* Direct wiring installation for blasting.
* Install wiring toward the blast face.
* Verify and program the BCU.
* Label electronic detonators.
* Comply with regulations and guidelines for occupational safety and health in mining.
* Coordinate blasting works and procedures, including drill pattern design and determination of charge factors.
* Adequately plan the mining schedule and long-hole drill design. **Recommend appropriate explosive selection based on rock mass quality. e) Track consumables and blasting accessories required for explosive detonation in drill holes to optimize explosive and accessory consumption.**
* Place explosive orders in coordination with the commercial team according to the monthly progress and production schedule, ensuring minimum stock levels and business continuity for the client.
* Coordinate with section supervisors regarding drilling and blasting. **Review priming, tie-in diagrams, detonator placement, loading, and stemming to ensure blast conditions are met.**
* Control explosive quality parameters such as density, fluffiness, among others.
Requirements:
* Valid AIIB driver’s license.
* Minimum 2 years of prior experience handling operations within underground mining. **Knowledge of electronic detonators. (Desirable)**
Salary: S/.2,000.00 – S/.4,000.00 per month
