**Join Our Team as a Junior SQL Server Administrator!** **Job Description:** The Junior SQL Server Administrator will be responsible for the comprehensive management, maintenance, security, and optimization of the company’s databases. This role is key to improving performance, automating processes, auditing information, performing environment-to-environment migrations, and defining database architectures—ensuring availability, integrity, and operational continuity of information systems. Additionally, they will provide specialized technical support to development, BI, and project teams. **REQUIREMENTS:** **Academic Qualifications:** * Graduate or Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or related fields. * Advanced technical training in database administration or similar disciplines. **Required Experience:** Minimum professional experience working as a DBA or in database support: * **Technical graduate:** minimum 2 years. * **University bachelor’s graduate:** minimum 1 year. **Technical Competencies:** * Database engine administration (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or others) * **Advanced SQL proficiency:** complex queries, views, functions, stored procedures, and tuning * Installation, configuration, and updating of database instances and servers * **Advanced optimization and performance tuning:** indexes, execution plans, partitioning, jobs, monitoring * **Auditing and traceability:** log analysis, change control, activity tracking * **Database migrations:** on-premise, server-to-server, across versions, and/or to the cloud * **Database architecture:** logical/physical design, normalization, modeling, standards * **Access and security administration:** roles, permissions, encryption, compliance policies * **Automation:** creation of jobs and maintenance plans, automated backups, scheduled tasks * **Backups and recovery:** definition, execution, and validation of disaster recovery strategies * **High availability:** clustering, replication, Always On, failover **Desirable (not mandatory):** * Knowledge of **Azure SQL, AWS RDS, Redshift, or other cloud services** * Experience with ETL tools or data integration * Familiarity with Power BI or reporting **Personal Competencies:** * Strong analytical skills and attention to detail * Results-oriented mindset and commitment to continuous improvement * Ability to clearly and systematically document processes * Good communication and collaborative teamwork skills * Commitment to information security **Residence:** * **Preferably residing in Los Olivos or nearby districts** (Independencia, Comas, San Martín de Porres, Carabayllo, etc.). **RESPONSIBILITIES:** * Administer and maintain the company’s databases and instances * Monitor performance, availability, and security * **Optimize queries, processes, indexes, and table structures** * Audit tables, access, changes, and resource usage * Execute, validate, and **automate backup and recovery plans** * Design and execute **database migrations** across environments and servers * Define and maintain **preventive and corrective maintenance plans** * Manage **creation, modification, and control of access** to servers and databases * Participate in designing **database architectures** for new projects * Support development teams (procedures, integrations, automations) * Document diagrams, policies, incidents, and technical configurations **WORK CONDITIONS:** * **Schedule:** Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. * **Location:** On-site – Los Olivos, Lima. * **Compensation:** S/2,500.00 monthly. * **Duration:** Full-time. **We look forward to building the future of technology—together!** Job type: Full-time Salary: S/.2,500.00 per month Application question(s): * Indicate your level of SQL Server administration expertise * Have you performed SQL Server database migrations between servers? * What have you directly optimized in SQL Server?
