Job Summary: Support the Senior DBA in administering, monitoring, maintaining, and supporting multicloud databases, ensuring availability, integrity, performance, and security in compliance with PCI DSS and ITIL standards. General job information:** Department: Cloud Operations Center (CLOC) Databases Reports to: DBA Lead (with direct support to the Senior DBA) Work modality: On-site / Hybrid (according to service shifts) Availability: 24x7 operations (rotating shifts and on-call backup schedule) Commitment: 100% dedicated to the service **Requirements:** --------------- **2\. Job objective** Support the Senior DBA in administering, monitoring, maintaining, and supporting databases within the multicloud environment, ensuring data availability, integrity, performance, and security in compliance with PCI DSS standards and IT service best practices (ITIL). The Junior DBA performs operational and preventive tasks, escalating complex cases to the Senior DBA. **3\. Key responsibilities** Operations and monitoring * Monitor database health, availability, and performance (relational and cloud-based database engines). * Respond to Level-1 alerts and execute defined runbooks and procedures. * Log, track, and document incidents and requests in the service desk (ITSM). * Escalate critical or out-of-scope incidents to the Senior DBA. Maintenance and backups * Execute and validate backups and restoration tests according to the schedule. * Support preventive maintenance tasks (indexes, statistics, jobs, disk space/tablespaces). * Apply patches and minor updates under supervision and change management. ***Support and performance*** * Assist in analyzing slow queries, locks, and performance issues. * Collaborate in creating/modifying objects (users, schemas, permissions) per Senior DBA guidelines. * Support high-availability and replication administration. ***Security and compliance*** * Implement access controls based on the principle of least privilege. * Support generating evidence and controls related to PCI DSS / ISMS. Documentation and continuous improvement * Maintain up-to-date operational documentation, runbooks, and database inventory. * Propose improvements and automation for repetitive tasks. **4\. Mandatory requirements** * Education: Graduate or bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Informatics, or related field (or technical diploma with equivalent experience). * Experience: 1–2 years in database administration/support (internships or formal experience). * Relational database engines: knowledge of at least one of SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL. * SQL: solid proficiency in SQL language (queries, basic DML/DDL, stored procedures). * Fundamentals: backup and restore, indexes, users and permissions, concepts of availability and performance. * Availability: willingness to work on a 24x7 schedule (rotating shifts / on-call). **5\. Preferred requirements (differentiators)** * Cloud (preferred foundational knowledge): familiarity with managed cloud databases (Amazon RDS / Aurora). * Experience with Amazon RDS/Aurora, DynamoDB, or MongoDB Atlas. * Foundational certifications: AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Azure Data Fundamentals (DP-900), or database fundamentals. * Knowledge of monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Grafana, native database tools). * Basic scripting for automation (PowerShell, Python, Bash). * Service desk experience (Jira Service Management, ServiceNow, or Aranda). * Technical English (reading documentation). **6\.
