**Job Posting: SSOMA Engineer – SURFACE BLASTING (Surface Blasting)**
**Corporación Grupo Sur del Perú S.A.C.** is seeking an **SSOMA Engineer** to join our team at the **Tía María Mining Unit – Arequipa** project.
This position targets a professional experienced in **safety, occupational health, and environmental management in mining projects**, preferably in **explosive loading and surface blasting activities**, responsible for supervising compliance with safety standards, operational procedures, and applicable regulations on-site.
**Requirements**
* Degree holder in **Safety Engineering, Mining Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering**, or related fields.
* Valid and active **professional license registration**, preferred.
* Minimum **3\*** years\* of experience as an SSOMA Engineer, SSOMA Supervisor, Safety Officer, or similar roles.
* Desirable experience in **surface blasting mining projects** (certified).
* Knowledge of safety controls for activities involving explosives: loading, connection, evacuation, firing, and post-blast operations.
* Familiarity with mining safety regulations and field-based SSOMA management.
* Proficiency in SSOMA documentation: **IPERC, PETS, ATS, checklists, inspections, permits, reports, and records**.
* Availability to work under a **14x7 schedule**.
* Willingness to work at the **Tía María Mining Unit – Arequipa**.
**Main Responsibilities**
* Supervise compliance with **safety, occupational health, and environmental** standards across project activities.
* Verify adherence to safe work procedures during **explosive loading and surface blasting**.
* Monitor safety controls before, during, and after blasting operations.
* Review work permits, ongoing IPERC, ATS, PETS, checklists, and operational controls.
* Conduct on-site safety inspections of equipment, tools, vehicles, and work fronts.
* Coordinate with the Blasting Supervisor and project leads to ensure implementation of SSOMA controls.
* Participate in safety talks, internal trainings, and inductions.
* Track observations, corrective actions, and preventive actions.
* Support incident, unsafe act, and substandard condition investigations.
* Coordinate with the client on matters related to safety, occupational health, and the environment.
* Prepare daily, weekly, or ad-hoc SSOMA reports as required by the company and client.
* Promote a preventive safety culture during high-risk operations.

* **Work Location:** Tía María Mining Unit – Arequipa.

* **Work Schedule:** 14x7\.
* **Meals:** Provided at the project site.

**Compensation**
* Starting from **S/ 5,000\.00**, depending on experience and assessment.

Salary: Starting from S/.6,000\.00 per month
