Promote the use of digital platforms to optimize training management Company Description Anglo American, in partnership with Mitsubishi Corporation, is developing the Quellaveco mining operation—one of the world’s largest copper deposits—located in the Moquegua region of southern Peru. Quellaveco has a 30-year reserve life. It will employ open-pit mining and flotation processes to produce copper concentrates, as well as molybdenum and silver as by-products. Quellaveco is expected to produce an average of 300,000 tonnes of copper per year during its first 10 years of operation. Job Description Anglo American is seeking an SHE Learning Specialist to join our People & Organization team, within Talent, Development & Culture. **Primary Challenge** Contribute to operational safety and occupational health through compliance with legal, regulatory, and corporate requirements, and through appropriate hazard and risk management—ensuring the design and delivery of critical and/or mandatory training activities in Safety, Occupational Health, and Environment, while managing the quality, effectiveness, and monitoring of training services, programs, and content developed internally and by our training provider partners. **Key Responsibilities** * Administer the annual mandatory Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) training program for Anglo American employees and strategic partners. * Ensure compliance with Peruvian legislation, Anglo American global-corporate standards, and organizational strategic needs based on incident trends and future plans. * Maintain the mandatory training matrix up-to-date by role, function, and level of exposure to hazards and risks—in coordination with and aligned to the Occupational Safety and Health Management team. * Manage services provided by strategic partners for mandatory training—including validations, assessments, accreditations, and license management—while supervising quality, plan progress, and opportunities in line with operational needs and case-specific circumstances. * Coordinate with organizational departments to deliver training activities using best practices and appropriate training modalities (e.g., virtual, in-person, synchronous, asynchronous, etc.) tailored to different groups and locations. * Conduct audits on training content, quality, and evidence to comply with internal standards and Peruvian legislation. * Periodically report on progress against the annual training plan—identifying potential deviations, best practices, and impacts on employee performance. * Continuously incorporate learnings from local and/or global incident investigations into current programs. * Actively contribute to safety and occupational health programs to promote a culture of safe work at Anglo American. * Monitor and manage compliance indicators—including coverage, timeliness, effectiveness, quality, gap closure, budget execution, and audit results—and implement corrective actions to ensure achievement of annual program objectives. * Identify compliance risks and training needs arising from regulatory changes, operational modifications, adoption of new technologies, lessons learned, and critical incidents. * Promote the use of digital platforms, data analytics, and artificial intelligence to optimize the management, traceability, and effectiveness of mandatory training. * Provide support and execute other activities, projects, or responsibilities assigned by the immediate leader within the specialist’s domain—aligned with business priorities and the objectives of the People & Organization Vice Presidency. **SHE Functions and Responsibilities** * Know and apply Anglo American Quellaveco’s SHE values, principles, and policy—and actively contribute to its vision of zero harm. * Ensure that SHE hazard and risk control measures related to assigned activities are implemented in the workplace to enable safe work performance. * Comply with internal Management System standards, procedures, and regulations—and actively participate in training, awareness, and Zero Harm culture-building sessions. * Promptly report unsafe acts and conditions, as well as incidents. Requirements **Academic Qualifications and Driver’s License** * Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mining Engineering, Occupational Safety Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Psychology, Business Administration, or related fields. * Postgraduate specialization in occupational safety and health, risk management, learning management, or certifications in auditing or integrated management systems (desirable). * Class AI driver’s license (desirable). * Intermediate English proficiency (desirable). **Professional Experience and Knowledge** * Minimum of 5 years in similar roles related to mandatory global training management, occupational safety and health, in high-risk industries (e.g., mining, energy, hydrocarbons, or similar). * Experience in designing and implementing mandatory training programs and regulatory compliance. * Experience coordinating with operational departments and managing audits (internal/external). * Experience managing multiple vendors. **SHE Competencies** * Ability to recognize SHE hazards and risks associated with one’s activities—and to identify effective controls already implemented.
