1\. Position Objective
Develop, analyze, and control budgets for engineering, manufacturing, and industrial assembly projects by estimating material, labor, equipment, and service costs to ensure project economic viability and support preparation of technical and economic proposals.
2\. Position Responsibilities
Budget Preparation
* Prepare budgets for engineering, manufacturing, and industrial assembly projects.
* Develop basic 3D models for budgeting purposes.
* Calculate quantities and measurements from drawings and technical specifications.
* Estimate material, labor, equipment, and service costs.
* Prepare unit cost analyses (UCAs).
Cost Analysis
* Analyze project cost structures.
* Compare estimated costs against actual costs to identify variances.
* Support cost optimization and improvement proposals.
Preparation of Technical and Economic Proposals
* Prepare economic proposals for tenders or quotations.
* Prepare comparative cost tables.
* Support preparation of budgets for commercial offers.
Budget Control
* Monitor approved budgets during project execution.
* Identify budget variances and report them to the project department.
* Update cost information in internal databases.
Technical Coordination
* Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project departments to obtain technical and economic information.
* Request quotations from suppliers for cost estimation.
* Support preparation of technical and economic reports.
3\. Academic Qualifications
University graduate or bachelor’s degree in:
* Industrial Engineering
* Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
* Related fields
Desirable:
Courses in costing, budgeting, or project management.
4\. Experience
Minimum 1–2 years of experience in budget preparation or cost analysis for engineering, construction, or metal-mechanical projects.
Experience in quantity surveying and preparation of unit cost analyses.
