Job Summary: Perform heavy equipment maintenance at mining units and workshops, applying technical and safety criteria, as well as leading technical teams and conducting training. Key Highlights: 1. Technical leadership and mentoring **MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN \- MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN** **Purpose of the Position:** * Perform tasks involved in heavy equipment maintenance services established in service contracts with clients (mining companies and/or mining contractors and/or construction projects), at mining units, underground workshops, surface workshops, work areas or equipment faces, or other locations where such services are required, considering technical criteria and safety, health, and environmental guidelines. **Specific Responsibilities of the Position:** * Evaluate equipment covered under the service contract, report findings, and prepare spare parts requests for scheduled maintenance work based on accumulated operating hours of equipment components. * Evaluate highly complex electrical systems of assigned low-profile equipment. * Repair, refurbish, commission, or replace highly complex electrical components such as control panels or electrical circuits, among others. * Participate in the repair and replacement of major equipment components, such as engines, gearboxes, converters, cylinders, shafts, etc. * Respond to high-complexity emergencies and unforeseen equipment failures, minimizing equipment downtime. * Prepare technical reports on equipment condition to schedule future repairs. * Act as team leader, as directed by the immediate supervisor, to lead a group of technicians forming a work team. * Coordinate with EHS or the supervisor to obtain permits for assigned high-risk work (PETS, PETAR, etc.). * Accurately record entry time, exit time, and break times. * Effectively utilize contractual resources (PPE, assets, consumables, assigned tools, instruments, etc.). * Conduct hands-on training or mentoring for junior-level technicians. **Requirements:** * Technical education in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related fields from Technical Institutes (minimum 2 years of study). * Graduates of Mechanical or Electrical Engineering programs with specialization in heavy machinery maintenance, maintenance mechanics, production mechanics, or Industrial Engineering. * Minimum 6 years of experience performing heavy equipment maintenance within Surface Mining Units or UGM, or similar segments served. * Minimum 3 years of experience working with low-profile equipment. * Experience in defensive driving and possession of A2B driver's license, with at least 2 years of prior experience. * Authorization required by Sandvik and clients for operating light vehicles (4x4 pickup trucks) under the service contract, provided the employee has been designated to drive such a vehicle. * No medical restrictions preventing performance of duties at mining units located along the Peruvian coast, highlands, and jungle, where service contracts exist. (Mandatory.) * No restrictions regarding use of PPE, a mandatory requirement to perform duties in accordance with legal provisions applicable to affiliated companies, clients, and Sandvik.
