Position Summary: Stantec is seeking a Project Accountant to manage project accounting—including billing, budgeting, subcontracting, and financial analysis—working closely with Project Managers. Plays a key role in customer service and communication. **Requisition Number:** 23895BR **Description:** Stantec is hiring a PROJECT ACCOUNTANT for its offices in Peru, requiring a professional with at least five (5) years of general work experience. Key responsibilities include: * Performing Project Accounting activities specifically related to Projects (Direct Time– DT). * Preparing and maintaining project setup, billing, Billing Rate Tables (BRT), project budgets, change orders, subcontract management, cost transfers, credit memos, missing rates, non-billable cost centers, timely project closeouts, and maintenance of assigned project files—based on client contract information and input provided by the Project Manager (PM). * Reviewing contractual agreements to ensure proper handling of tax and fiscal requirements, bank guarantee letters, and special billing requirements, ensuring delivery of required information to the client. * Ensuring payment applications are generated using accurate data from the accounting system, issued to the client, tracked for approval, invoiced accordingly while meeting tax requirements, and delivered to the client. * Conducting monthly reviews of unbilled amounts to ensure accuracy of Work-in-Progress (WIP) and deferred revenue for assigned projects. * Serving as a partner to Project Managers, including support with tasks such as preparing financial progress reports, assisting with client audits, performing project financial analysis, adjusting budgets to ensure project budget accuracy, supporting preparation of project write-off documentation, transferring transactions pending billing (“WIP”), monitoring accounts payable, and supporting follow-up on outstanding invoices, etc. * Coordinating, estimating, and reconciling monthly accruals, properly documenting them for submission to Accounting. * Communicating variable income, penalties, or unusual contractual terms that must be considered to ensure appropriate revenue recognition. Preparing project-level analyses and reconciliations using the Project Performance Report (PPR) and other tools. * Verifying the accuracy of all data inputs and outputs and ensuring timely delivery of results as required. * Maintaining continuous communication with direct reporting line and support staff across all project-related work and demonstrating ability to meet established deadlines. * Plays a key role in customer service and must be personable, professional, and knowledgeable in assigned areas. **Qualifications:** Requirements for this position include: * Degree in Industrial Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Public Accounting and Auditing, or Management. * Five (5) to eight (8) years of experience in Project Controls. * Proficiency in Oracle and Power BI. * Intermediate English language skills. **About Stantec:** Stantec’s community comprises approximately 31,000 employees working across more than 450 locations on six continents.
