Job Summary:
Provide primary health care and first aid to students and staff within a school campus, including preventive, promotional, and rehabilitative care.

OBJECTIVE:
To provide primary health care — i.e., first aid — to students and members of the staff who require it during instructional hours and/or while on school premises.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Nursing
* Minimum 2 years of experience in clinical support roles (topics, emergencies, urgent care, or clinics)
* Availability to work in Arequipa
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provide first-aid care to students and staff for illness, urgency, or emergency, reviewing the respective medical record containing information on medication use and contraindications.
* Deliver preventive, promotional, and rehabilitative care for health issues. Perform appropriate nursing procedures (dressings, immobilizations, injections, and/or oral medication administration per physician prescription and written parental authorization).
* Record all interventions with required information in the digital nursing platform.
* Notify families via telephone, computerized system, or student agenda regarding care provided.
* Coordinate annual medical check-ups for staff (ESSALUD mobile clinic).
* Train and certify student first-aid brigades.
* Submit monthly attendance reports to the Administrator.
* Daily notification to the Cycle Coordinator, with copy to the corresponding level secretary, regarding students authorized to leave the school for health reasons.
* Provide the student with a medical record form from the School Insurance policy contracted by the school, enabling access to affiliated clinics in case of accidents.
* Issue the student a stamped and signed nurse-issued exit pass indicating reason, date, time, and accompanying person; and inform the Cycle Coordinator or relevant secretary about this departure.
* Release the student to parents or legal guardians when home referral is necessary.
* Provide secondary-level students with a classroom entry slip indicating time and date of nursing visit, to present to their classroom teacher as proof of time spent in the infirmary.
* Conduct basic assessments to identify health issues among students under care and others upon teacher request, notifying parents accordingly.
* Assist students requiring hygiene support due to gastrointestinal and/or urinary incontinence.
* Accompany injured students to a healthcare facility in life-threatening situations.
* Annually develop the Area Operational Plan (POA) reflecting area requirements based on needs.
* Other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

* Working hours: Monday to Friday, 7:45 am to 5:15 pm
