Job Summary: Buenaventura is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to ensure the physical stability of mining components and manage geotechnical projects. Key Responsibilities: 1. Ensure the physical stability of tailings dams and mining components. 2. Analyze and review open-pit and tailings dam design projects. 3. Manage geotechnical drilling and instrumentation projects. **Date:** 14 May 2026 **Location:** 17 \- MOQUEGUA, PE **Company:** Buenaventura At Buenaventura, we are currently seeking a **Geotechnical Engineer** for one of our mining units. **Main Responsibilities:** * Understand and enforce the company’s integrated policy, procedures, PETS, and activity-specific standards established in the SIB. * Review stability analyses of tailings dams. * Verify the physical stability of surface components (dams, waste dumps, leach pads, and tailings storage facilities). * Analyze open-pit, pad, waste rock, organic material, sludge, unsuitable material, and hydrogeological design projects. * Review slope mapping and determine geomechanical characterization (rock mass and discontinuities) of open-pit slopes. * Review monitoring data from geotechnical instrumentation installed across various components of the Mining Unit. * Conduct and review physical stability analyses based on interpretation of geotechnical monitoring data. * Manage geotechnical drilling projects at the Mining Unit. * Manage geotechnical instrumentation implementation projects at the Mining Unit. * Manage deliverables related to physical stabilization of components in accordance with applicable regulations. **Professional Profile:** * Degree in Geology, Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, or related field. * Knowledge of MineSight, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Project, Rocscience, and GeoStudio (preferred). * Minimum of 3 years’ experience in similar positions. * Immediate availability to work at a mining unit. ***IMPORTANT!*** ***Buenaventura does not request any type of payment to participate in its selection processes.
