Description
Job Summary:
Analyze operational data from mine, plant, and maintenance using AI and advanced analytics to improve safety and operational performance.
Key Highlights:
1. Apply advanced analytics and AI to optimize mining operations
2. Develop predictive and prescriptive analytical models
3. Design and improve dashboards and KPIs for end users
**JOB MISSION:** Analyze operational data from mine, plant, maintenance, and other MCP areas by applying advanced analytics and artificial intelligence techniques to identify improvement opportunities, explain performance deviations, generate analytical models, recommendations, and decision-support tools that contribute to enhancing safety, stability, reliability, and operational performance.
**RESPONSIBILITIES:**
* Analyze operational data from mine, plant, maintenance, and other MCP areas to identify improvement opportunities, constraints, performance deviations, and relevant operating ranges; produce periodic reports related to study/evaluation management.
* Support diagnostic execution through statistical analysis, data mining, and AI to explain operational losses, variability, recovery rate decline, low TPH compliance, impact of ore on the concentrator, or other relevant events.
* Build, train, and test advanced analytics and AI solutions for mine, plant, maintenance, and other MCP areas for subsequent validation by the Advanced Analytics Engineer, using analytical, predictive, prescriptive, soft sensor, forecasting, and anomaly detection models; document assumptions, variables, and limitations.
* Participate in the design, validation, and enhancement of user-oriented dashboards, KPIs, and analytical tools in coordination with data and development teams.
* Support the development and validation of equipment health models, anomaly detection, and failure prediction models in coordination with maintenance and reliability teams.
* Participate in analyses, simulations, digital twins, and optimization models regarding potential operational scenarios arising from proposed operational changes.
* Consolidate required information for technical reporting and benefit documentation, recording analysis, models, results, and recommendations.
In 2007, Aluminum Corporation of China (CHINALCO) established Minera Chinalco Perú S.A. (Chinalco Perú) to construct, develop, and operate the Toromocho copper mega-project.
Toromocho Mining Unit has been the first world-class copper mine executed and developed from inception overseas by a Chinese company. It is located in the Morococha District, Yauli Province, Junín Department, at over 4,500 meters above sea level.
It operates a concentrator plant processing approximately 117,200 tons of ore per day.
Today, Chinalco Perú is one of the most important companies within China Copper and CHINALCO’s largest wholly-owned foreign subsidiary.
