The role is responsible for leading Quellaveco’s asset security strategy, ensuring comprehensive protection of people, assets, products, and business continuity—both within the operation and across its area of influence. Ensure management of critical asset security risks by establishing guidelines, ensuring implementation of corporate standards and compliance with Peruvian regulations—within the framework of human rights and aligned with Anglo American’s Values and Voluntary Principles. **Key Responsibilities** * Serve as the organization’s “Technical Element” for asset security—acting as the go-to resource for leaders seeking consultation, risk assessment, decision-making, implementation and monitoring of actions; and other activities ensuring operational continuity—including on-site leadership of possessory defense actions, evacuation of personnel from hazardous zones, deployment of third-party personnel for protection of colleagues and facilities, etc. * Promote adherence to Anglo American’s Values to foster security-based behaviors that contribute to protecting the company’s reputation—including Human Rights and the Voluntary Principles. * Achieve position objectives by applying best security practices; keeping the Asset Security and Crisis Management leadership informed of potential risks. * Perform duties in accordance with the company’s leadership framework. * Participate in internal meetings and external stakeholder engagements, representing the company and its values—and complying with company guidelines regarding commitments and policies. * Support achievement of team objectives by monitoring milestones and special conditions associated with collateral roles assigned to the team. * Develop and maintain Area documentation (policies, plans, manuals, instructions, procedures, etc.) in alignment with assessed risks and current technology applications. * Ensure execution of security plans—updating and adapting them based on risk and credible threat assessments through enhancements in physical security, electronic security, technology, patrolling, etc.; including process or procedure adjustments that trigger updates to the Asset Security Manual. * Verify that Quellaveco’s asset security activities are closely coordinated with various Anglo American departments. * Collaborate with the team in gathering and analyzing information to assess and monitor risks and threats potentially affecting the asset security of people, assets, and products at Anglo American Quellaveco—proactively implementing mitigation plans and actions. * Support the Risk Supervisor in coordinating with the corporate Security team to address risks and threats, as required. * Maintain effective coordination and synergies with Strategic Partners of the Area—fostering teamwork to deliver services with optimal quality and efficiency—including definition and monitoring of respective KPIs, tracking of Security Incident Reports, implementation of required actions, and closure of their cycles—ensuring Asset Security Governance. * Ensure the team supervises the performance of the contracted private security provider—fulfilling its leadership, monitoring, and control responsibilities over surveillance services, patrol routes within the area of influence, incident management support related to operations, etc. * Manage administrative / operational / budgetary / contractual requirements for role execution. * Lead internal and external investigations related to activities undermining asset security management at Anglo American Quellaveco. * Perform other duties related to the nature of the position as requested by the Asset Security and Crisis Management leadership. * Support the Weekend Guard Management on asset security matters—assuming leadership of the Area during rotational shifts at the operation, with handover of key instructions to the Counter-Shift Superintendent. **SHE Functions and Responsibilities** * Know and apply Anglo American Quellaveco’s Values, Principles, and SHE Policy—and contribute to its vision of zero harm. * Comply with—and ensure compliance with—legal requirements and other commitments assumed by Anglo American Quellaveco, as well as internal Management System standards, procedures, and regulations—including training, awareness, and Zero Harm culture development sessions. * Manage resources to ensure implementation and maintenance of the Integrated Management System—as well as control of SHE hazards and risks. * Ensure identification and control of SHE hazards and risks associated with activities and changes occurring within the work area. * Drive continuous improvement in Safety, Occupational Health, and Environmental Management Requirements **Academic Qualifications** * Retired military officer or university graduate in a related field. * Postgraduate degree preferred in Administration or related disciplines. * Security-related training and specialization desirable. **Driver’s License and Language** * Valid Class A-1 driver’s license required, with minimum two years’ validity. * Intermediate English proficiency desirable. **Professional Experience** * Minimum five years’ experience in supervisory, superintendence, or higher-level positions—related to asset security or within similar enterprises/institutions. * Experience engaging with local communities and the mining social environment desirable. **SHE Competencies** * Knowledge and experience in Safety, Health, and Environmental Management—considering applicable legal regulations for the mining sector. * Knowledge and experience in incident investigation. * Knowledge and experience in identifying SHE hazards and risks—and proposing effective controls.
