The Security Manager will play a key role in ensuring the museum's people, information, and assets are protected from a range of threats, in line with the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF). **Key Accountabilities** Security Governance * Develop, implement, and maintain the museum's protective security risk management framework, including conducting risk assessments and implementing control strategies. * Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and guidelines in accordance with the PSPF. * Provide authoritative advice and guidance to museum staff on all aspects of protective security. * Establish and maintain a strong security awareness culture within the museum. * Oversee security incident reporting, investigation, and response processes. * Liaise with the precinct security group, relevant government agencies and industry bodies on security matters. Personal Security * Develop and implement personnel security procedures, including pre\-employment screening, security clearances, and security awareness training. * Oversee administration of the museum's access control systems, ensuring that only authorised personnel have access to sensitive areas and information. * Advise on and contribute to the development of insider threat mitigation strategies. Physical Security * Conduct regular security assessments of the museum's facilities, identifying vulnerabilities and recommending appropriate security measures. * Oversee the implementation and maintenance of physical security controls, including perimeter security, access control, CCTV, and alarm systems. * Develop and implement security procedures for special events and exhibitions. * Liaise with security contractors and service providers. Information Security (excluding Cyber Security) * Develop and implement procedures for the secure handling and storage of sensitive information, including classified documents. * Oversee the museum's information security program, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies. * Provide guidance on the secure disposal of sensitive information. Emergency Management * Contribute to the development and maintenance of the museum's emergency management plans, including evacuation procedures and business continuity plans. * Provide advice and support during security incidents and emergencies. Supervision and Leadership * Supervise the Security Coordinator, providing guidance, support, and performance management. Work, Health and Safety * Demonstrate a strong commitment to Work Health and Safety (WH\&S) by actively supporting a positive safety culture, following the Museum’s WHS policies and procedures, and complying with reasonable instructions to ensure alignment with the Work Health and Safety Act 2011\. **Selection Criteria** * Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Demonstrated understanding of the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and its application in a museum or cultural institution context. * Experience in conducting security risk assessments and implementing mitigation strategies. * Knowledge of physical security principles and practices, including access control, CCTV, and alarm systems. * Experience in developing and implementing security policies and procedures. * Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills. * Relevant qualifications in security management or a related field. * Experience working in a museum or cultural institution. * Knowledge of relevant legislation and standards, such as the Work Health and Safety Act. * Experience with emergency management planning and response. **Eligibility** To be eligible to apply for this vacancy, applicants must: * be an Australian citizen * undergo pre\-employment checks, including a police record check * hold or be eligible to hold a security clearance at the level specified in the position description.
