Position Summary: Conduct microbiological and physicochemical analyses of food products, ensuring quality and reliable results according to Nestlé standards and ISO/IEC 17025. Key Responsibilities: 1. Implement and improve self-control plans and risk matrices. 2. Participate in internal and external audits. 3. Experience in food or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) laboratories. **Position Summary:** Laboratory Assistant **Location:** Peru **Employment Type:** Full-time **Reports To:** Quality Manager **Position Purpose:** Perform microbiological and physicochemical analyses of finished food products, raw materials, and other samples with assured quality, generating reliable results in compliance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and safety requirements established by Nestlé and ISO/IEC 17025\. **A Day in the Life of...** * Conduct periodic vertical method, GLP, and safety audits * Know, apply, improve, and maintain the updated Self-Control Plan (SCP), chemical compatibility matrix, TSRA risk matrix, Quality competency matrix, and analytical competency matrix * Apply and maintain 5S in the laboratory * Maintain up-to-date inventory of materials, culture media, and chemical solutions, ensuring FIFO compliance * Prepare and/or condition materials, equipment, culture media, and chemical solutions as specified in methods, ensuring availability for analysis * Execute sampling per the microbiological, pathogen, and physicochemical monitoring plan * Responsible for implementation of the laboratory’s Self-Control Plan (SCP) and monitoring reproducibility across production-line laboratories * Perform activities aligned with performance indicators for service level, quality, and cost monitored within the area * Participate in and respond to internal and external audit events * Fulfill the Laboratory Service role (handling analysis request forms (SAF), sample receipt, sample confirmation, sample creation in SAP, test report preparation, shipment of samples to external laboratories, receipt of laboratory supplies, quality induction for contractors and third parties, and various communications regarding laboratory activities to internal customers) * Read analyses and promptly report results to the analyst * Timely report any anomalies occurring during analysis, calibration and/or verification of equipment, and quality deviations to enable immediate corrective actions **What Will Make You Successful:** * University graduate or equivalent in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related fields * Minimum 1 year of laboratory experience, preferably in food manufacturing or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) laboratories, serving as Laboratory Assistant and/or Laboratory Analyst * Knowledge of microbiological and physicochemical analysis techniques Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 standard **Competencies:** * Autonomy * Initiative * Leadership * Discipline
