Company Description Anglo American, in partnership with Mitsubishi Corporation, is developing the Quellaveco mining operation—one of the world’s largest copper deposits—located in the Moquegua region in southern Peru. Quellaveco has a 30-year reserve life. It will employ open-pit mining and flotation processes to produce copper concentrates, as well as molybdenum and silver as by-products. Quellaveco is expected to produce an average of 300,000 tonnes of copper per year during its first 10 years of operation. Job Description Anglo American is currently seeking a Mine Services Operator (SS1\). **RESPONSIBILITIES:** * Safely execute daily tasks assigned by the road maintenance supervisor, with environmental responsibility and within the machine’s technical specifications. * Operate and execute any machine for which qualification has been achieved, under the direction of the team leader. * Obtain authorization for at least one (3\) equipment items associated with the role, with their detailed operational classification designated as primary equipment. * Continue building competencies in core functions aligned with the role, improving expertise to meet safety, quality, and environmental stewardship standards. Ensure achievement of Operational and Safety KPIs. * **CORE FUNCTIONS:** * Participate in the training plan related to technical aspects of equipment operation and autonomous operation, to meet operational safety requirements and support continuous process improvement and career progression. * Operate safely and productively, adhering to all procedures and work standards. * Be able to read and understand the equipment’s operations manual and procedures. * Verify that the equipment is in suitable condition at the start and end of each shift. * Refrain from operating the equipment when maneuvers are unsafe. * Maintain cleanliness of the equipment, including all instruments. * Assume responsibility for operational activities directly under personal control. * Inspect the work area. * Manage validity of internal license and MTC driver’s license for authorized equipment operation, complying with RITRAN requirements. Required Competencies: * 5000-gallon Tanker Truck * Rigger * CAT 340 Excavator * CAT 420 Backhoe Loader Floor Operator (Signaling Management, Pump Management, Carpentry) * **SHE FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** * Know and apply Anglo American Quellaveco’s SHE values, principles, and policy, contributing to its zero-harm vision. * Ensure implementation of SHE hazard and risk controls related to assigned activities at the workplace to enable safe task execution. * Comply with internal Management System standards, procedures, and regulations; actively participate in training, awareness, and Zero-Harm culture development sessions. * Promptly report unsafe acts and conditions, as well as incidents. Requirements **EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS** * Completed secondary education. * Role-specific certifications required to operate associated machinery. * Driver’s License (Category A3\-C). **EXPERIENCE** When referencing experience, please consider the following: * Minimum two years’ experience operating the role’s primary equipment. * Experience in large-scale mining or companies providing services to large-scale mining. * Experience in mining operations-related tasks. * Knowledge of operational techniques related to the role’s primary equipment. * Knowledge of operational safety aspects, use of safety management tools, and familiarity with operational procedures (PETS). * Basic knowledge of fleet management systems (Minestar, Modular, etc.). **SHE COMPETENCIES** * Ability to recognize SHE hazards and risks associated with own activities, as well as identify effective controls implemented.
