This is the beginning of an incredible journey—we wish you the very best! **Purpose** The **Labor Relations and Employee Relations Manager in Peru** plays a critical role in fostering a safe, respectful, responsible, and inclusive workplace at Scotiabank by proactively managing conduct, cultural, and labor-related risks. This role supports employee leaders and employees in resolving complex labor matters, including dispute resolution and investigations. **Responsibilities** * **Case and Investigation Management** * Independently manage Labor Relations and Employee Relations cases requiring expertise in labor law, the Scotiabank Code of Conduct, and global HR policies. * Conduct formal investigations into serious misconduct allegations (e.g., harassment, discrimination, violence, or other violations of the Scotiabank Code of Conduct), either independently or in collaboration with other investigation teams. * Provide support for early resolution and/or mediation to employee leaders and employees. * Lead employee interviews, analyze facts, prepare investigation reports, and present findings and recommendations to senior leadership. * **Advisory and Coaching Support** * Serve as a trusted advisor to employee leaders, employees, and HRBPs, providing guidance on labor matters, performance management, and conflict resolution—ensuring global consistency and compliance. * Demonstrate capability and flexibility when formulating recommendations to meet the evolving needs of a specific business or circumstance. * Proactively coach to support sound decision-making aligned with Scotiabank’s policies and risk frameworks, avoiding outcomes that set precedents. * Manage, where appropriate, employment terminations after analyzing and evaluating each case’s circumstances, always applying applicable legal provisions and seeking to minimize risk. * Apply disciplinary measures, where appropriate, after analyzing and evaluating each case’s circumstances, the severity of the misconduct, and its impact on the Bank. * **Strategic Partnerships and Insights** * Collaborate with HRBPs on strategic initiatives such as reorganizations, changes to terms and conditions of employment, and restructuring. * Identify trends and provide insights to senior leadership to inform HR strategy, talent management, and risk mitigation. * Deliver training to employee leaders and employees on Labor Relations and Employee Relations topics, as required. * Demonstrate innovation by proactively identifying efficiencies that improve processes, outcomes, and delivery of Labor Relations and Employee Relations services. * Manage offboarding processes linked to employment termination—including, but not limited to, performance-related, restructuring-related, or serious misconduct-related cases—in accordance with Bank policies and applicable legislation. * **Compliance and Risk Management** * Ensure compliance with operational risk frameworks, regulatory compliance, AML/ATF, and conduct risk standards across all Labor Relations and Employee Relations activities. * Maintain accurate and defensible case documentation meeting legal and internal standards. * Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture must be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. * Respond to inspections, audits, and requests from supervisory and regulatory bodies (e.g., SUNAFIL, MTPE), as applicable, ensuring responses comply with applicable legislation and internal standards. * Achieve effective RCM system management and timely completion of the annual CRCA through close collaboration with the Compliance team. * Manage and coordinate administrative processes before regulators—including inspection proceedings, as applicable—ensuring compliance, timely execution, effective stakeholder coordination, and satisfactory regulatory outcomes. * **Labor Relations** * Collaborate with the Senior Labor Relations and Employee Relations Manager to adapt labor relations programs and practices to local requirements while leveraging global best practices. * Collaborate with the Senior Labor Relations and Employee Relations Manager to govern and review collective bargaining agreements and address labor matters—including assessing labor risks and the impact of initiatives in unionized countries. * Provide guidance on labor relations matters, anticipate trends, and proactively address challenges. * **Culture** * Promote a customer-focused, high-performance culture that fosters inclusion, engagement, and alignment with Scotiabank’s vision and values. * Contribute to a team environment that attracts, retains, and develops top talent. * Act as a Bank-wide champion for ScotiaBond and the Raise a Concern Program. * **Union Relations** * Advise and, where appropriate, participate in negotiations related to union requests—overseeing compliance with labor laws and applicable contractual and legal provisions. * Manage and resolve union-filed cases based on principles of fairness and transparency, strengthening the Employer–Union relationship. **Requirements:** * Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Human Resources, Labor Law, or a related discipline; and/or more than 3 years of experience in Labor Relations and Employee Relations or Human Resources * Knowledge of labor legislation, HR policies, and best practices in Labor Relations and Employee Relations. * Ability to read and interpret collective bargaining agreements (international). * Strong investigative and analytical skills. * Problem-solving skills with sound judgment. * Experience in conflict resolution and alternative dispute resolution techniques. * Excellent oral and written communication skills, including report writing and presentation capabilities. * Ability to manage multiple priorities, stay organized, and meet deadlines. * Demonstrated ability to manage complex and sensitive cases with discretion and professionalism. * Proficiency in English Location(s): Peru : Lima : San Isidro Thanks so much for applying to this position;
