




Job Summary: We are seeking engineers or recent graduates with high potential to develop software and cloud engineering solutions, researching and integrating open-source software components to create or enhance cloud-based products. Collaborative work on new features and bug fixing for products ### **Summary** We are looking for engineers in the final stages of their academic program or recent graduates with high potential and interest in building their careers and diving into emerging technologies focused on software development and cloud engineering. In this role, you will be challenged to research and integrate open-source software components to create or improve our cloud-based products built on open-source frameworks. You will be part of a squad, working on new features and bug fixing for the product group associated with that squad. On a typical day, you may write Python code to improve an open-source tool, integrate or author a Helm Chart for Kubernetes deployment, perform automated deployments in a lab environment, conduct troubleshooting activities with other teams, or participate in short Scrum meetings or technical discussions. **This position is available for remote work from the following locations: Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Uruguay, and Peru.** **Responsibilities** --------------------- * Develop product features. * Take on product improvement challenges and research emerging technologies such as (5G, OSM, SDN, etc.). * Propose improvements and evolution strategies for products. * Perform bug fixing for products associated with the squad. * Collaboratively participate in shared tasks with other units, both during regular business hours and outside of them when required. * Collaborate and engage in open-source communities, as appropriate. * Adhere to company guidelines, submit code via Git with clear commits, and thoroughly document all changes. * Meet work deadlines and deliverables, and respond promptly to messages on Slack and email. * Actively participate in daily team meetings and broader cross-team or cross-departmental meetings. **Requirements** ------------------ * Education: + Recent graduates or students nearing completion of degrees in Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related fields. * Experience: + Experience in software development (Python). + Experience in software specification, design, and data structure. Specific Knowledge / Technical Requirements: * **Python** + At least 1 year of proven professional or personal experience with Python. + Knowledge of data structures, object-oriented programming (OOP), computational complexity, design patterns, and concurrency. * **Linux** + Basic commands, file manipulation, networking, etc. + Basic experience with shell scripting (Bash). * **Docker** + Usage and creation of container images with Docker (intermediate level). + Ability to create images using a Dockerfile. + Understanding of the Docker container lifecycle. * **Networking** + Understanding of network protocols, IP addressing, and routing. + Basic understanding of networking from a programming perspective (interfaces, sockets, ports, etc.) and experience with common protocols such as TCP, UDP, HTTP, and REST. * **Git** + Familiarity with the standard workflow: add, commit, push. + Experience working with branches and resolving merge conflicts. * Language: English B2 * Desirable: + Experience with public cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure) or private cloud (OpenStack). + Experience with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.). + Ability to adapt existing open-source solutions. **Required Soft Skills:** ---------------------------- * Autonomy, discipline, and self-learning ability * Conceptual analytical thinking * Customer orientation * Teamwork capability #### **About Us** At **Whitestack**, we are leaders in Latin America for Telco Cloud, Open Networking, and hyper-scalable digital infrastructure solutions.
