Position Summary: AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical discipline development for Mining and Metallurgy projects. Key Highlights: 1. Technical reference and mentor for less experienced engineers An opportunity has arisen to join AtkinsRéalis as a Senior Mechanical Engineer in the Mining and Metallurgy Division. **Responsibilities:** * Lead mechanical discipline development across various project phases (Studies, Conceptual Engineering, Pre-feasibility, Feasibility, Basic and Detailed Engineering). * Define design criteria and technical guidelines for mechanical engineering development. * Design, review, and approve calculation memoranda, technical specifications, data sheets, and equipment requisitions. * Lead the design and evaluation of material handling systems using conveyor belts. * Develop and review designs for chutes, transfer stations, discharge systems, and bulk material handling systems. * Conduct technical reviews of designs prepared by mechanical engineers and designers. * Coordinate interfaces with process, civil, structural, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines. * Participate in risk management activities, constructability reviews, and operational safety reviews. * Provide technical support during procurement, fabrication, construction, commissioning, and start-up phases. * Manage technical queries with clients, suppliers, and contractors. * Participate in estimation activities, proposal development, and engineering scope definition. * Act as technical reference and mentor for less experienced engineers within the team. **Requirements:** * Formal education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Valid professional registration (desirable). * Experience: Minimum 10 years in mechanical engineering for mining or industrial projects. * Proven experience in material handling system design. * Experience leading mechanical engineering activities in multidisciplinary projects. * Experience in feasibility, detailed engineering, and construction support engineering. * Experience in technical interaction with clients and suppliers. * English: Intermediate level (desirable). **Process:** * Applications are accepted exclusively through our corporate careers portal; applications submitted via other channels will not be accepted. * We will contact only shortlisted candidates for interviews. * Relocation costs are not covered.
