Description
Position Summary:
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to diagnose faults in rotating equipment, perform engineering calculations, and develop solutions to improve asset reliability and extend service life.
Key Highlights:
1. Fault diagnosis of rotating equipment and vibration analysis
2. Root cause investigation and development of technical solutions
3. Participation in engineering projects and condition monitoring
Are you passionate about understanding why a machine fails—before it actually fails?
At GAMT, a Peruvian company specializing in applied engineering, vibration analysis, reliability, and predictive maintenance for mining, energy, industry, and hydroelectric power generation, we are looking for a Mechanical Engineer who enjoys diving deep into numbers, the physics of machines, and the root causes of problems.
**Responsibilities:**
* Diagnose faults in rotating equipment (pumps, motors, turbines, compressors, and fans) using condition monitoring techniques such as vibration analysis, thermography, and oil analysis.
* Perform mechanical engineering calculations, including stress analysis, dynamic balancing, alignment, modal analysis, and evaluation of reliability indicators (MTBF, MTTR, and availability).
* Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) of failures and develop technical solutions to improve reliability and extend the service life of critical assets.
* Prepare technical reports supported by engineering calculations, drawings, assembly schematics, and 3D models in AutoCAD and Inventor, providing solid technical justification for diagnoses and proposed solutions.
* Participate in engineering projects and condition monitoring campaigns at industrial plants, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and applying new analytical methodologies.
**Requirements:**
* Mechanical Engineer, Mechatronics Engineer, or related degree.
* Analytical profile with genuine interest in calculations, applied physics, and resolution of complex technical problems.
* Minimum 2 years of experience in fault diagnosis, vibration analysis, or reliability of rotating equipment.
* Ability to work with data, interpret it, and translate it into sound technical conclusions.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD and Inventor for drafting, 3D modeling of mechanical components, and graphical support for technical analyses.
* Willingness to undertake occasional field travel (mining sites, industrial plants, power generation facilities).
**Benefits:**
* Competitive market-based salary.
* Continuous training and technical specialization development (vibrations, reliability, predictive maintenance).
* Covered lunch on office attendance days.
* Excellent working environment and teamwork.
If you thrive on challenges and continuous learning, this is your opportunity.
