Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and strategic partners **POSITION:** Project Manager **LOCATION:** * Only candidates legally authorized to work in **Peru** will be considered. * This hiring is contingent upon donor funding approval. **WORK ENVIRONMENT TYPE:** Flexible hybrid work environment **CLOSING DATE:** August 14, 2026 **JOB LEVEL:** 15 **Position summary:** Rainforest Alliance seeks a highly motivated, results-oriented Project Manager with solid experience **in sustainable development project management, agroforestry, and agricultural value chains**, to lead the implementation of the project: “Amazon Cacao Resilience: Roots of Prosperity for Cacao Farmers in San Martín, Peru”, funded by EDEKA through its Cocoa for Future initiative. The project spans five years and aims to strengthen the climate, economic, and social resilience of 3,000 cocoa producers in the San Martín region through the implementation of agroforestry systems, restoration of productive landscapes, technical capacity building, financial inclusion, and livelihood improvement. The intervention responds to critical challenges facing cocoa producers, including vulnerability to climate change, degradation of production systems, income gaps, limited access to financing, and risks associated with deforestation and child labor. The project will promote the transition toward more resilient agroforestry systems through the establishment and management of forest and shade species, while simultaneously strengthening producers’ capacities to improve productivity, diversify incomes, and enhance farm sustainability. It will also facilitate access to financial services and promote environmental and social risk monitoring and management mechanisms. The Project Manager will be responsible for the project’s strategic planning, implementation, technical coordination, monitoring, financial management, and comprehensive reporting, ensuring achievement of objectives related to: * **Agroforestry and landscape restoration.** * **Increased producer income and resilience.** * **Financial inclusion.** * **Gender equality and social inclusion (GEDSI).** * **Monitoring of deforestation and child labor risks.** * **Achievement of targets and indicators agreed with EDEKA under the project framework.** This position will play a central role in coordinating multidisciplinary teams, public institutions, producer organizations, buyer companies, financial entities, and other strategic partners, contributing to lasting impacts on cocoa value chain sustainability and conservation of San Martín’s productive landscapes. **Responsibilities:** **Strategic and Operational Project Management** * Lead the operational and strategic planning and implementation of the project, aligned with the timeline, budget, and deliverables specified in the project contract, approved work plan, and budget. * Lead Rainforest Alliance’s coordination with key stakeholders (producers, associations, cooperatives, companies, government institutions, among others). * Serve as the primary point of contact with the donor. * Ensure compliance with EDEKA and RA policies and guidelines. * Coordinate integration of agroforestry, financial inclusion, decent income, GEDSI, and risk monitoring components. * Implement quality control and adaptive management mechanisms. * Coordinate adaptation and mitigation measures in response to climatic events such as El Niño. * Lead the agroforestry and restoration strategy. Design the SAF, beneficiary list, and intervention methodologies. * Manage the technical assistance and training network, ensuring high-quality technical support delivered to producers. * Ensure integration of the GEDSI approach across all activities. * Lead implementation of the financial inclusion strategy. * Lead the child labor risk mitigation strategy. **Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting** * Supervise methodological design of baseline studies, surveys, sampling, data collection, and analysis of results. Analyze baseline findings and develop actions in a detailed five-year operational plan. * Supervise the monitoring system in coordination with RA Peru’s MEL unit. * Prepare and submit quarterly, annual, and final technical and financial progress reports, per donor and RA requirements. * Coordinate audits, assurance processes, and respond to review requests. * Generate content on key results, important notes, success stories, etc., as input for subsequent publication by RA’s Communications team on social media; **Communication and Reporting** * Prepare quarterly, annual, and final reports. * Document lessons learned and success cases. * Coordinate development of communication materials. * Support visibility of project results to EDEKA and other partners. **Other tasks assigned by the Country Director.** **Qualifications:** **Academic Background** * Degree in agronomy, forestry, agricultural economics, rural development, environmental sciences, or related fields. * A master’s degree in Project Management, agroforestry systems, cocoa, certification, or another field relevant to the project is desirable. **Experience** * Minimum 8 years in project management. * Minimum 5 years working in cocoa, agroforestry, landscape restoration, or sustainable value chains. * Experience managing international cooperation funds. * Experience leading multidisciplinary teams. * Experience in financial and budgetary management. * Experience working with local organizations such as indigenous and local communities, cooperatives, associations, among others. **Skills and Knowledge** * Fluent English (written and spoken) is mandatory for direct interaction with the donor and RA global units, international companies, report writing, etc. * Willingness to reside in San Martín with periodic travel to Lima. * Strong analytical ability, technical writing proficiency, and leadership capacity in multicultural and complex environments. * Proficiency in digital tools and platforms for project management (Excel, Outlook, etc.). * Ability to travel frequently at local, national, and international levels. **If you have any questions about this vacancy, please contact the Human Resources Department:** **recruitment@ra.org** (mailto:recruitment@ra.org) **The Rainforest Alliance promotes diversity and inclusion throughout its global organization.
