Professional development and progression to Solutions Architect ### **Summary** We are looking for Virtualization or Cloud Engineers with strong expertise in VMware and Linux-based virtualization (KVM), passionate about guiding mission-critical customers through the evolution of their applications toward more efficient, open, and scalable Cloud platforms — to join our Workload Migration Team. The position involves close collaboration with technical teams at leading enterprises in the Chilean and Peruvian markets, actively participating in workload migration from traditional virtualization environments to modern Kubernetes-based Cloud platforms. If you seek to build your Cloud career and progress toward a Solutions Architect role, this is a concrete opportunity to accelerate your professional growth by tackling real-world, high-impact challenges. **Hybrid work model, based in Santiago (Chile) or Lima (Peru).** ### **Responsibilities** * Collaborate closely with clients to deeply understand current mission-critical system architectures deployed on VMware, and produce clear, accurate architecture documentation. * Define and plan application migration strategies to new Cloud environments, considering virtual machine affinity and anti\-affinity criteria, technical dependencies, and operational requirements. This includes executing progressive migration tests using the Chrysara platform. * Lead execution of previously validated application migrations into new environments, coordinating and operating within maintenance windows while ensuring operational continuity and minimal risk. * Execute automated workload validation processes, analyzing results to confirm rollout or trigger automatic rollback mechanisms as appropriate. * Perform advanced troubleshooting of incidents reported during application deployment or initial operation when related to Cloud infrastructure. * Design and execute application-specific test scenarios, both in pre-production environments and by adapting internal lab environments. * Continuously document, maintain, and update Cloud infrastructure and architecture information associated with each migrated application. * Provide technical feedback to internal teams, proposing improvements and optimizations to increase efficiency, repeatability, and reliability of application deployment and migration processes. ### **Requirements** * 3 years of experience as an advanced Linux user, administering systems in production environments. * 2 years of experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware ESXi, KVM, or equivalent technologies. * 1 year of experience working with mission-critical applications in zero-downtime, high-availability environments. * Experience engaging in technical discussions with clients, clearly and substantively explaining architectural and operational decisions. * Experience documenting technical information, including architectures, procedures, and operational plans. * Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or related fields. **Specific Knowledge (in order of priority)** * Advanced Linux, ideally on distributions such as Debian, Ubuntu, Red Hat, Fedora, or equivalents. * VMware ESXi virtualization. * KVM-based virtualization. * Enterprise storage platform knowledge. * Networking fundamentals at a basic level (TCP/IP, VLANs, basic routing). **Professional Requirements** * Autonomy (to achieve optimal results) * Rigor and adherence to world-class standards * Curiosity and openness to learning new technologies * Analytical thinking and resolution of complex problems: * Teamwork and collaboration * Operational flexibility: Availability to participate in maintenance windows, including after-hours intervention on critical systems when required. #### **About Us** **Whitestack** is a leading Latin American company specializing in cloud solutions and hyper\-scalable digital infrastructure.
