We are currently looking for a Biology Analyst to join our laboratory team. The candidate will be responsible for performing microbiological and biological analyses on various matrices, ensuring adherence to established methods, quality requirements, and applicable standards.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or graduate in Biology, Microbiology, or related fields.
• Minimum 6 months of experience in accredited environmental laboratories or laboratories undergoing accreditation.
• Knowledge of microbiological techniques applied to environmental matrices.
• Knowledge of quality management systems under ISO/IEC 17025.
• Proficiency in operating microbiological laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Intermediate-level proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Availability for full-time employment.
Desirable Experience
• Microbiological analysis of drinking water, natural water, wastewater, and groundwater.
• Determination of total coliforms, thermotolerant coliforms, Escherichia coli, enterococci, and heterotrophic bacteria.
• Preparation of culture media and microbiological quality control.
• Participation in quality controls, audits, and proficiency testing.
Main Responsibilities
• Receive, register, and verify environmental samples.
• Prepare materials, reagents, and culture media required for tests.
• Perform microbiological analyses according to standardized methods and internal procedures.
• Carry out internal quality controls and record obtained results.
• Verify proper functioning of laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Record technical information in forms, worksheets, and laboratory information systems.
• Comply with biosafety, occupational safety, and environmental management requirements.
• Maintain order and cleanliness in work areas.
• Support validation, verification, and quality assurance activities.
• Participate in internal and external audits as required.
