Job Summary: This nursing technical role focuses on the processing and sterilization of surgical materials, ensuring quality and distribution across various departments. Key Highlights: 1. Opportunities for continuous training and professional development. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: GREEN AREA: 1\. Record and review completed and pending tasks from the current shift, and report to the technical staff of the next shift. 2\. Execute the procedure to verify functionality and cleanliness of the sterilizer prior to loading surgical materials. 3\. Package surgical instruments. 4\. Execute the procedure for loading materials according to the type of sterilization (steam). 5\. Assess sterilization quality upon unloading the batch by measuring the biological indicator. 6\. Bag and seal all materials and garments in polypropylene for delivery. 7\. Execute the procedure for distribution and documentation of sterilized materials delivered to various departments. 8\. Retrieve ethylene oxide-sterilized materials. 9\. Send garments used within the service to the laundry for proper washing. 10\. Attend continuous education meetings and complete institutional credit requirements. 11\. Maintain, monitor, and record area temperature per applicable standards. 12\. Participate in shift handover ceremonies. 13\. Perform other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor, such as supporting other services and/or cost center transfers. BLUE AREA: 1\. Record and review completed and pending tasks from the current shift, and report to the technical staff of the next shift. 2\. Clean the work area using antiseptic supplies. 3\. Execute the procedure to verify functionality and cleanliness of the sealer machine. 4\. Inspect, seal, and label surgical materials and instruments designated for the green area. 5\. Clean the instrument and material delivery cart. 6\. Classify packaged surgical materials and instruments by sterilization type. 7\. Deliver sterile materials to all departments requiring them and document delivery confirmation. 8\. Attend continuous education meetings and complete institutional credit requirements. 9\. Participate in shift handover ceremonies. 10\. Perform other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor, such as supporting other services and/or cost center transfers. RED AREA: 1\. Record and review completed and pending tasks from the current shift, and report to the technical staff of the next shift. 2\. Execute the procedure for receiving and inspecting the condition of surgical materials. 3\. Perform sterile washing and drying of surgical materials and instruments. 4\. Identify and report incidents detected during washing of materials. 5\. Maintain surgical instrument trays. 6\. Provide support to other areas as required. 7\. Attend continuous education meetings and complete institutional credit requirements. 8\. Participate in shift handover ceremonies. 9\. Perform other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor, such as supporting other services and/or cost center transfers.
