This is the beginning of an incredible journey—we wish you all the best! **Director, KYC/AML** **Purpose** * Leads and oversees KYC/AML in Peru and ensures that business strategies, plans, and initiatives are implemented or fulfilled in accordance with applicable regulations, internal policies, and procedures. * Responsible for leading the end\-to\-end client onboarding process, including KYC/AML processes for existing Commercial Banking Peru clients, ensuring compliance with AML/KYC regulatory requirements, strong governance, and a high-quality customer experience. * The role combines two key objectives: excellence in customer experience and effective risk management, ensuring efficient, controlled, and auditable processes. * Additionally, responsible for strengthening the first line of defense through a robust risk culture, ensuring appropriate management of AML/ATF, sanctions, regulatory compliance, and operational risk, while driving transformation, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives. **Responsibilities** * Leads and fosters a customer-centric culture across the entire team to deepen client relationships and leverage the Bank’s extensive relationships, systems, and expertise. 1\. Leads Commercial Banking Onboarding * Ensure the Commercial Banking onboarding process has been correctly executed (review, post-process sampling) to enhance customer experience and provide feedback to the business line. * Lead the end-to-end onboarding process for commercial clients, coordinating with areas such as Compliance, AML, Risk, Business, GTB, Legal, among others. * Supervise the implementation and maintenance of Smartforms (BASA) in onboarding and suggest improvements to the onboarding process. * Provide guidance—coordinated with Operational Governance—to business and support units regarding documentation requirements. * Ensure alignment with KYC policy and local regulatory requirements. * Represent Commercial Banking in relevant forums to support growth, automation, and compliance. * Lead innovation and technology solutions, including their implementation. * Drive local initiatives to improve customer experience and reduce onboarding turnaround times, as well as monitor performance KPIs—including time, quality, and compliance metrics, among others. * Supervise the onboarding and ongoing monitoring processes to ensure they are effective and measurable, as well as the development of technological tools enabling efficiency, control establishment, and reporting to meet obligations related to regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk, and conduct risk—including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, the Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, the Global AML/ATF Manual, and the Code of Conduct Guidelines. 2\. Control, Quality, and Continuous Improvement * Evaluate and ensure adherence to implemented managerial controls, identifying opportunities to implement new controls or enhance existing ones. * Monitor strict compliance with the Bank’s regulations, policies, and procedures governing client transactions. * Develop metrics and report findings and progress against remediation objectives to management and stakeholders. Identify Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) for management and stakeholders. * Assess QA results and validate ongoing remediation activities to determine whether identified issues are systemic in nature and develop appropriate corrective action plans, as needed. * Monitor the regulatory environment for emerging legislation and policies, in coordination with AML and Operational Governance units, industry trends, and best practices. Maintain deep understanding of major local regulatory changes. * Interact with internal and external audit, as required, in response to inquiries regarding the control environment and the scope of QA and testing. 3\. AML Initiatives * Identify key issues related to AML/FT and economic sanctions, and provide management and staff with insight into the applicability of major compliance issues. * Coordinate with Global AML/ATF and US Risk Management, Operational Governance, and other relevant units to address regulatory matters and the Bank’s remediation projects. * Responsible for supporting business lines—in coordination with Operational Governance as the specialized unit—on AML-related matters, including recommendations for offboarding, client onboarding, exceptions, and approvals. * Understands the Bank’s risk culture and how risk appetite must be considered in daily activities and decisions. * Creates an environment where the team conducts effective and efficient operations within their respective areas, while ensuring the suitability, compliance, and effectiveness of daily business controls to fulfill obligations aimed at reducing operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, money laundering and terrorist financing risk, and conduct risk—including responsibilities established under the Operational Risk Management Framework, the Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, the International Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Manual, and the Business Conduct Guidelines. * Promotes a high-performance environment and implements a workforce strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates the team; to achieve this, fosters an inclusive workplace, communicates the vision, values, and business strategy, and manages succession and development planning for the team. **Requirements:** * MBA or bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, finance, or equivalent work experience. * Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a compliance capacity within a financial institution, with strong banking, AML/ATF, and regulatory experience. * Fluency in English is required. * Experience leading teams to complete compliance/AML-related projects. * Efficient, well organized, and strong communication and negotiation skills. * Strong coaching skills and the ability to make effective decisions in a fast\-paced environment. * Experience in preventing potential penalties, losses, and reputational damage resulting from failures in the AML/ATF program. * Expert understanding of banking products, services, operations, systems, practices, policies, organization, and infrastructure.
