Lead quality audits and implement corrective actions **Job Description** We are looking for a highly qualified, strategic, and operationally excellence-oriented **Quality Control Manager (QA/QC)** to lead quality assurance and control processes across our mining operations and processing facilities. The primary objective of this position is to define, implement, and oversee the comprehensive strategy for the Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Management System. The incumbent will ensure compliance with international quality standards, optimization of testing and sampling laboratories, analytical control of minerals, and strict adherence to mining industry safety, health, and environmental regulations. **Key Responsibilities** * **QA/QC System Leadership:** Design, implement, and lead the Quality Assurance and Control Plan across exploration, extraction, metallurgical processing, and mineral shipping stages. * **Chemical and Metallurgical Laboratory Management:** Supervise analytical laboratory operations (both internal and external), ensuring accuracy, traceability, and reliability of mineral grade assays. * **Process Control and Standards Verification:** Establish sampling, sample preparation, and analysis protocols for duplicates, standards, and blanks (CRM) to ensure geological and metallurgical data integrity. * **Audits and Inspections:** Conduct periodic quality audits of contractors, suppliers, and internal processes, identifying deviations and implementing Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) plans. * **Certification and Regulatory Compliance Management:** Ensure compliance with and maintenance of international certifications (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 17025, and other applicable sector-specific standards). * **Leadership and Team Management:** Coordinate, train, and empower the team of quality engineers, supervisors, and technicians, promoting a culture of safe work and operational excellence. * **Executive Reporting:** Develop key performance indicators (KPIs), technical reports, and quality summaries for senior management and operational committees. **Job Requirements** * **Education and Training:** * Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Geology, or related fields. * Active and valid professional licensure (as required by local regulations). * Specialization, diploma, or master’s degree in Quality Management, Metallurgy, or Mining Management *(preferred)*. * **Experience:** * Minimum 5–8 years of leadership or senior supervisory experience in QA/QC roles within the **mining-metallurgical** sector (open-pit or underground operations). * Proven experience in managing chemical/metallurgical laboratories and grade control. * **Technical Knowledge:** * Proficiency in international standards ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025. * Experience with statistical process control software and LIMS (*Laboratory Information Management System*). * Solid knowledge of sampling protocols (Pierre Gy Sampling Theory) and geological QA/QC.
