Transportation Assistant – Heavy Cargo **Department:** Operations **Level:** Assistant **Sector:** Heavy cargo transportation **Reports to:** Operations Manager/Head of Operations What will be your objective? We are looking for a **Transportation Assistant** with experience in heavy cargo transportation operations, supplier management, and service tracking. You will be responsible for supporting the identification and coordination of suppliers, requesting quotations, monitoring tariffs, controlling costs, and coordinating transportation services—contributing to the efficient execution of operations. Key Responsibilities * Identify and contact heavy cargo transportation suppliers. * Maintain an up-to-date supplier portfolio of **vans, flatbeds, and heavy cargo units**. * Request and compare supplier quotations. * Support tariff and commercial terms negotiation. * Record and update supplier, tariff, and service information. * Support development of cost structures and quotations. * Track scheduled transportation services. * Coordinate with suppliers regarding unit availability. * Verify compliance with agreed terms and tariffs. * Follow up on incidents and requirements during service delivery. * Support logistics cost control and analysis. * Prepare reports on services, costs, quotations, and suppliers. * Identify opportunities for cost improvement and optimization. * Coordinate service scheduling with involved departments. * Keep operational documentation and information up to date. * Comply with company internal policies, procedures, and guidelines. Requirements **Academic Qualifications:** * Technical studies, incomplete university studies, or a degree in Administration, Industrial Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Logistics, Business, or related fields. * Preferred background in logistics, operations, or transportation. **Experience:** * Minimum 2–4 **years of experience in heavy cargo transportation companies**. * Experience in transportation coordination and supplier management. * Experience in requesting and analyzing quotations. * Preferred experience with vans, flatbeds, and heavy cargo transportation. Mandatory Requirement **Must possess an active supplier portfolio or contacts for heavy cargo transportation, vans, and/or flatbeds.** Knowledge * Heavy cargo transportation operations. * Coordination and tracking of transportation services. * Supplier management. * Transportation quotations and tariffs. * Cost control and analysis. * Logistics and distribution flows. * Proficiency in Excel and office tools. * Report preparation.
