Job Summary:
Oversees on-site blasting tasks to ensure contractual compliance, supervising personnel and verifying safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and supervise teams in blasting operations.
2. Ensure compliance with blasting safety protocols.
3. Perform programming and verification of electronic detonators.
Mission or Objective: Supervise on-site blasting-related tasks to fulfill the contract established with the client.
Main Responsibilities:
* Provide on-site team instructions regarding tasks to be performed in the blasting zone.
* Submit raw material and supply requisitions to inform the respective supervisor.
* Inspect blasting before, during, and after execution to ensure compliance with established requirements.
* Verify equipment status, electronic detonators, and availability of human resources to ensure efficient blasting execution in accordance with Enaex standards.
* Program electronic detonators using equipment, following established protocols.
* Perform priming, tying, and loading of pre-split drill holes if required.
* Conduct accessory reconciliation to control efficient product usage.
* Generate safe work analysis based on the applicable methodology.
* Assess risk conditions in the blasting zone.
* Halt operations if safety conditions so require.
* Guide and correct actions inconsistent with drill-loading protocols or unsafe behaviors.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related field, or Technical Certification in Blasting (preferred).
* Experience in open-pit blasting, knowledge of tie-down designs, delay sequencing, burden calculation, safety in handling and use of explosives, and comprehensive understanding of the entire blasting process.
