Job Summary: Valtx is seeking a Functional QA professional with experience in system testing, regression testing, and modernization of legacy applications, as well as knowledge of .NET Core 8+ and SQL Server. What qualifications do I need? * Functional QA and application modernization: functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing; validation of legacy vs. modernized systems; requirements traceability; evidence management; and identification of migration risks. * Knowledge of legacy systems (VB6 or similar), functional equivalence validation between legacy and modernized applications, regression testing, process traceability, and identification of functional gaps. * Knowledge of BDL Server: SQL queries, data validation and reconciliation across systems, data integrity and consistency, validation of batch/transactional processes, and knowledge of stored procedures, views, and functions. * Knowledge of .NET Core 8+, layered architecture, backend, REST APIs, authentication, error handling, and log interpretation. * Performance Testing: response time validation, identification of post-migration performance degradation, volume and concurrency testing (desirable), and application stability evaluation. * Software security and quality: authentication/authorization, input validation, error handling, exposure of sensitive information, and functional security risks. * Proficiency with Jira and Xray. * GitHub Copilot and AI for QA: test case generation and review, support in automation, and validation of AI-generated code. Experience: * 4+ years of experience in functional, regression, and user acceptance system testing. * 2+ years of experience in legacy application modernization, migration, or refactoring projects. * 1+ year of experience with GitHub Copilot or other AI tools applied to QA. Key Responsibilities: * Analyze the legacy system and the modernized solution both functionally and technically. * Define the test strategy for the refactoring project. * Design and execute functional, integration, and regression test cases. * Validate functional equivalence between the VB6 legacy system and the new solution built on .NET Core 8 or higher. * Execute tests on APIs, integrations, and end-to-end processes. * Perform data validations in SQL Server. * Manage defects, test evidence, and test traceability. * Support test automation activities and maintenance of regression test suites. * Coordinate with development, technical leads, and functional users to validate refactored components. * Use GitHub Copilot as a supporting tool to accelerate test case generation, documentation, and baseline scripts—always manually validating results. **Benefits:** * Market-competitive salary * Biweekly and timely payments * Opportunities for horizontal or vertical career progression * Continuous training * 40% coverage of health insurance (EPS) Valtx believes in equal opportunities for women and men; therefore, we promote generational, national, and ethnic diversity, as well as inclusion of people with different abilities and/or disabilities (in accordance with Law 29973).
