It is located in the Arequipa region, Majes district, approximately a four-hour drive by road from the city of Arequipa, Peru. **Application Deadline: September 06, 2026** Reporting to the Contracts and Procurement Manager, the **Contracts Leader – Projects** will be responsible for leading a team and planning, delivering, and administering highly complex contractual agreements, including but not limited to project management contracts, construction contracts in various modalities, complex services contracts, or a set of contractual agreements of comparable cumulative magnitude. Collectively, these activities aim to add value, reduce the lifecycle cost of services and works procured by the Projects Group (or its agents) for Teck’s Projects — all efforts aligned with Teck’s values and purpose. This position is based in Lima on a 5x2 work schedule. **Key Responsibilities:** * Serve as a courageous safety leader, complying with and championing safety and environmental rules, regulations, critical controls, and procedures. * Manage contracts teams and other available resources to achieve departmental objectives with the highest quality and integrity, fully aligned with Teck’s governance framework and Contracts Management leadership guidelines. * Define procurement strategy through package analysis, market analysis, and opportunity assessment aligned with the Project’s strategic objectives, as well as optimal utilization of the human capital within the team managed to maximize Teck’s value. * Define minimum requirements for all procurement processes and ensure appropriate and “fit-for-purpose” controls are established to optimize commercial terms with contractors and protect Teck—including its reputation and brand. * Plan, bid, administer, and close requested contractual agreements within appropriate timelines for the Project and in strict compliance with applicable governance. Likewise, ensure the same level of compliance and high diligence in activities performed by direct or agency-contracted contracts teams. * Ensure continuity of contract management as a key element for project success and risk management, delivering commercial agreements on time and within specifications required by our internal clients without disrupting Project continuity. * Enhance service levels and performance by delivering commercial agreements offering the best value in accordance with our Code of Conduct and governance framework. * Promote efficiency through cost reduction and implementation of cost-efficiency initiatives across our internal processes, consistently driving value creation. * Promote effectiveness and efficiency through diverse methodologies, including Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) evaluation, project schedule analysis aligned with project requirements, and best practices in contracts management for megaprojects — ensuring Project success through consistent behavior and sound governance. * Define optimal procurement strategies to integrate local companies into the value chain and consider corporate social responsibility strategy in Teck’s business activities. * Provide clear guidance and direction to contract owners in accordance with Teck’s governance framework and Contracts Management leadership guidelines. * Provide timely, ad-hoc information and reporting to Contracts Management regarding fulfillment of responsibilities and results, fully aligned with Project and departmental objectives. **Requirements:** * Bachelor’s degree in Commercial Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, Systems Engineering, Economics, Mining Engineering, Law, or related disciplines. * MBA or Master’s degree/postgraduate qualification in Contract Management, Construction Management, or Supply Chain is preferred. * Minimum 10 years’ experience in the mining and/or construction industry. * Minimum 5 years’ experience in leadership roles. * 5 years’ experience conducting tenders for contracts in highly complex mining projects valued above USD 15M, and 10 years’ experience administering highly complex, high-value contracts exceeding USD 15M in mining construction projects. Additional experience managing EPCM, EP, CM, EPC, construction, or similar contracts valued above USD 30M will be considered. * Experience managing contracts with national and international Tier-1 contractors and/or suppliers. * Experience managing large-scale projects, negotiation skills, and risk management in complex contracts during mine construction phase. * Experience preparing performance reports and control dashboards. * Experience in procurement. * Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
