Company Description
Anglo American, in partnership with Mitsubishi Corporation, is developing the Quellaveco mining operation—one of the world’s largest copper deposits—located in the Moquegua region in southern Peru.
Quellaveco has a 30-year reserve life. It will use open-pit mining and flotation processes to produce copper concentrates, as well as molybdenum and silver as by-products. Quellaveco is expected to produce an average of 300,000 tonnes of copper per year during its first 10 years of operation.

Job Description
Anglo American is currently seeking a Commercial Finance Analyst.
The person in this role will support the operational team on financial matters, costs, and financial budgeting as a business partner.
Thus, they act as the financial partner for operational teams/disciplines, providing a business perspective to operational activities and supporting planning, cost control, financial processes, and operational activities at Quellaveco with financial information.
This role is part of the Commercial Team at the Quellaveco Operation and, as such, supports the site leadership team in delivering safe and responsible production in line with agreed operational plans.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:**
**Planning and Budgeting**
* Provide operational support in the budgeting process (annual and monthly), collecting inputs and delivering analysis for Management and Commercial Finance Specialists.
* Prepare financial reports and analysis on financial and non-financial process information.
* Interact with other Finance areas (Accounting, Financial Performance, GSS, etc.) to provide required information or inputs.
Support the preparation of financial forecasts, considering past performance, future activities, and business risks and opportunities.

**Risk Management and Performance Control**
* Serve as the point of contact for disciplines regarding financial information and performance.
* Participate in monitoring the financial performance of operational disciplines, identifying deviations from plan and reporting them to Management and Commercial Finance Specialists.
* Provide support in financial data analysis and preparation of insights and commentary for discussion with disciplines.
* Participate in in-depth discussions with disciplines on plan deviations, identifying and communicating the underlying operational causes of financial performance.
**Continuous Improvement**
* Support implementation of improvement initiatives for the area in cost management processes, tools, and reporting.
* Proactively identify commercial opportunities and improvements.
* Collaborate with discipline management to identify cost improvement opportunities.
* Gain a deep understanding of the discipline’s activities, processes, and value drivers.
**Sustainability and Social**
* Participate in Sustainability and Community commitments as relevant to the discipline and act consistently with sustainability expectations.
* Manage adherence to corporate governance and compliance requirements.
* Conduct site inspections to identify and escalate non-compliance.
* Participate in audits and assist in delivering findings within the discipline.
Requirements
**EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS**
**Qualifications:** Professional degree in Engineering, Accounting, Business Administration and Finance, Economics, or a related field.
**EXPERIENCE**
* 3 years of experience in Finance areas—such as Cost Accounting, Management Control, or Financial Planning—in the mining sector.
