Job Summary: A technical professional or engineer responsible for maintaining heavy equipment at mining units, performing assessments, complex repairs, and leading teams while ensuring compliance with safety and health standards. Intervention in complex repairs and emergencies. **Purpose of the Position:** * Perform maintenance services for heavy equipment as stipulated in service contracts with clients (mining companies and/or mining contractors and/or construction projects), at mining units, underground workshops, surface workshops, work areas, or equipment fronts—or other locations where such services are required—while adhering to technical criteria and safety, health, and environmental guidelines. **Specific Responsibilities:** * Assess equipment covered under the service contract; report findings and prepare spare parts requests for scheduled maintenance based on accumulated operating hours of equipment components. * Evaluate high-complexity electrical systems of assigned low-profile equipment. * Repair, refurbish, commission, or replace high-complexity electrical components such as control panels or electrical circuits, among others. * Perform repairs and replacement of major equipment components, including engines, gearboxes, converters, cylinders, shafts, etc. * Respond to high-complexity emergencies and unforeseen equipment failures to reduce equipment downtime. * Prepare technical reports on equipment condition to schedule future repairs. * Act as team leader, as directed by the immediate supervisor, overseeing a group of technicians forming a work team. * Coordinate with EHS or the supervisor to obtain required permits for assigned high-risk tasks (e.g., PETS, PETAR). * Accurately record entry, exit, and break times. * Efficiently utilize contractual resources (PPE, assets, consumables, assigned tools, instruments, etc.). * Conduct hands-on training or mentoring for junior-level technicians. **Requirements:** * Technical education in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related fields from Technical Institutes (minimum 2 years of study). * Graduates of Mechanical or Electrical Engineering programs with specialization in heavy machinery maintenance, maintenance mechanics, production mechanics, or Industrial Engineering. * Minimum 6 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance within Surface Mining Units or Underground Mining Units (UGM), or similar sectors served by the company. * Minimum 3 years of experience working with low-profile equipment. * Minimum 3 years of defensive driving experience and valid A2B driver’s license, with at least 2 years of prior driving experience. * Authorization from Sandvik and clients to operate light vehicles (4x4 pickup trucks) under the service contract, provided the employee has been designated as a vehicle operator. * No medical restrictions preventing performance of duties at mining units located along Peru’s coast, highlands, or jungle regions—where Sandvik holds service contracts.
