Job Summary: We are seeking a Subcontract Engineer to comprehensively manage construction subcontracts for transmission line and substation projects, ensuring contractual, financial, and operational control. You are responsible for executing construction contracts. You plan, optimize, and supervise resource utilization to ensure construction works are completed on schedule, according to specifications, and within budget. Common responsibilities include: managing contracts and obtaining required permits and licenses; preparing budget estimates; planning and defining construction phases; supervising subcontractor and subordinate or field personnel activities; verifying progress achieved and work quality throughout all project phases; representing the company in relevant matters. **Candidate Requirements** At ACCIONA’s INDUSTRIAL business unit, we require hiring a **SUBCONTRACT ENGINEER** for a transmission line and substation project **located in Sicuani, Cusco:** **Mission:** * Comprehensively manage construction subcontracts for the ATN3 project, ensuring appropriate contractual, financial, and operational control over their execution, thereby safeguarding the project’s interests regarding time, cost, quality, and compliance—anticipating risks, managing deviations, and fostering an effective relationship with subcontractors throughout the entire contractual lifecycle. **Responsibilities:** * Manage construction subcontracts for the project from formalization through contractual and administrative closure. * Review and administer contractual conditions applicable to each subcontract, ensuring proper compliance during execution. * Monitor subcontractors’ contractual performance concerning schedule, scope, obligations, risks, guarantees, insurance, and other contractual commitments. * Lead contractual and performance follow-up meetings with subcontractors, promoting early identification of deviations, constraints, and risks. * Review and control subcontractor valuations, verifying consistency with actual progress, contractual conditions, and supporting documentation. * Contractually manage variations, deductions, scope modifications, time extensions, suspensions, penalties, and other incidents arising from subcontract execution. * Proactively identify potential contractual claims or disputes, proposing mitigation strategies and timely documenting the project’s position. * Draft, review, and coordinate letters, contractual communications, and responses addressed to subcontractors. * Monitor validity, sufficiency, and proper management of bonds, insurance policies, retentions, and other contractual security instruments. * Coordinate with Construction, Technical Office, Project Control, Quality, SSOMA, Administration, and Procurement/Contracts to ensure comprehensive management of each subcontract. * Maintain an updated subcontract control matrix for the project, including contractual status, milestones, valuations, guarantees, risks, claims, and pending issues. * Participate in subcontractor performance evaluations and define corrective actions when non-compliances or significant deviations are identified. * Ensure proper contractual, documentary, and financial closure of subcontracts upon completion of works. **Required Profile** **Academic Qualifications / Certification / Experience:** * Civil, mechanical, electrical, electromechanical, industrial, or related engineering degree. * Preferred specialization or complementary training in contract management, contract administration, project management, or construction law. * Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction, infrastructure, or energy projects. * Minimum 3 years’ experience in construction contract or subcontract management. * Preferred experience in transmission line, substation, or electrical infrastructure projects. * Experience with lump-sum contracts and administration of claims, valuations, guarantees, and insurance. **Additional Knowledge:** * General understanding of construction processes applicable to transmission lines and substations. * Knowledge of lump-sum construction subcontract administration. * Proficiency in valuations, variations, deductions, penalties, and subcontract settlements. * Familiarity with bonds, insurance policies, retentions, and other contractual guarantees. * Knowledge of claim management, disputes, and contractual risk prevention. * Ability to read and interpret contracts, tender documents, technical specifications, quantity take-offs, and schedules. * Intermediate or advanced proficiency in Excel. * Familiarity with MS Project, P6, Power BI, SAP, or similar control systems is desirable. * Familiarity with Peruvian EPC or electrical infrastructure project contracting regulations and standard practices is desirable.
