Position Summary: We are seeking a Specialist Engineer in Drilling and Blasting to lead and ensure the technical development of processes in open-pit mining operations. Key Highlights: 1. Technical consulting to clients and process optimization We seek a Specialist Engineer in Drilling and Blasting to join our team to lead and ensure the proper technical development of blasting processes in open-pit mining operations. This role will play a key part in technical project management, quality assurance of drilling and blasting designs, vibration analysis, and technical consulting to clients, contributing to compliance with geotechnical and contractual service standards. Job Objective Analyze, verify, and manage the technical aspects of drilling and blasting services and projects, coordinating field activities and office-based analysis to ensure compliance with defined blasting parameters and contractual service commitments. Main Responsibilities Execute quality assurance and quality control (QAQC) activities for drilling and blasting designs. Review and implement drilling and blasting designs, verifying their compliance with technical and geotechnical requirements. Develop modeling and vibration analysis for near-field and far-field conditions. Analyze and propose criteria and standards for blast-induced damage control. Verify initiation sequence and detonation timing, mitigating impacts on geotechnically sensitive areas. Conduct post-blast controls, preparing technical reports for management and clients. Provide technical consulting to clients on matters related to drilling and blasting. Identify opportunities for technical improvement and process optimization. Ensure compliance with organizational safety, quality, environmental, and internal regulatory standards. Requirements **Requirements:** Professional degree in Mining Engineering or related field. Minimum 8 years of experience in open-pit mining. Experience leading drilling and blasting projects or studies. Experience in QAQC for drilling and blasting processes. Experience in vibration studies using near-field and far-field field tests. Knowledge of geotechnical reconciliation, design factors and conditions, and wall control. Proficiency in blasting design and simulation software and mine planning software. Residence in Lima (Peru).
