Description
Job Summary:
BAS World is seeking a Workshop Storekeeper with technical knowledge of vehicles to manage parts supply, ensuring the continuous operation of the workshop.
Key Highlights:
1. Key role in supplying parts for a large modern workshop
2. Professional yet informal environment with emphasis on technical mastery
3. Opportunity for professional development and growth within an international team
**About BAS World**
BAS World is an internationally operating organization with over 60 years of experience in the global trade of trucks, machinery, and commercial vehicles. From our headquarters in Veghel (the Netherlands), we serve customers in more than 125 countries. What began as a family business has evolved into a modern, international organization selling over 15,000 vehicles annually to customers worldwide.
All those vehicles must be in perfect condition before reaching the customer. That is why BAS World operates one of Europe’s largest and most modern workshops, where trucks, trailers, and machinery are inspected, repaired, and prepared for delivery every day. Without the correct parts at the right time, this entire workshop would grind to a halt—and that is precisely what your role is about.
At BAS World, you will work in a professional yet informal environment where technical mastery, teamwork, and professional development are fundamental. As we continue to grow, we actively invest in international talent and offer professionals from outside Europe the opportunity to build a successful career in the Netherlands.
**What Will You Do?**
As Workshop Storekeeper, you will be the driving force behind parts supply. This is by no means a standard warehouse position: you must understand what you are handling—a brake caliper, a turbocharger, a steering gear, or a hydraulic pump. You recognize the parts, know their function, and can assess whether the correct part matches the correct truck. Your technical knowledge of vehicles makes the difference between a workshop that keeps running and one that stops.
Your responsibilities will include, among others:
* Identifying, locating, and delivering truck, trailer, and machinery parts to mechanics
* Inspecting incoming parts for accuracy, quality, and completeness—you notice immediately when something is off
* Locating the correct parts in (electronic) spare parts catalogs using chassis numbers or vehicle types
* Advising mechanics on suitable or alternative parts for repairs
* Receiving, registering, and storing deliveries in their designated locations
* Inventory management: counting, replenishing, identifying shortages, and placing orders in coordination with procurement
* Keeping the warehouse tidy, safe, and well-organized
* Processing orders and returns in the warehouse management system
**What Do You Bring?**
For this position, we specifically seek someone with genuine technical knowledge of vehicles: you have affinity with or hands-on experience in automotive mechanics and recognize truck and machinery parts instantly.
* Completed technical education in automotive mechanics, commercial vehicle mechanics, or similar—or demonstrable practical experience in the sector
* Experience as a mechanic (of commercial vehicles), spare parts specialist, or storekeeper in the automotive or truck sector—you understand the technical construction of a truck
* Knowledge of vehicle components: engine parts, braking systems, electronics, hydraulics, chassis and body parts
* Ability to independently locate the correct part using chassis numbers and catalogs
* Accuracy and organizational skills: errors in part delivery immediately cost the workshop time
* Good physical condition: you work standing up and regularly lift parts
* Basic computer skills; experience with warehouse or spare parts software and a forklift operator certificate are advantages
* Motivation to relocate to the Netherlands and build a long-term career there
* Willingness to learn Dutch and/or English; basic English knowledge is an advantage but not a requirement
* A valid passport and willingness to cooperate in the visa and work permit process
**What Do We Offer?**
* Full-time employment (42–45 hours per week), with an indefinite contract upon successful performance
* Comprehensive support and financing for the visa and work permit process
* Airfare paid from Peru to the Netherlands
* Accommodation arranged upon your arrival in the Netherlands
* Dinners included Monday to Friday: after a hard day’s work, a hot meal awaits you in the evening
* An essential role in one of Europe’s most modern workshops
* Room for training and growth
* A close-knit international team into which you will integrate quickly
**Working and Living in the Netherlands**
At BAS World, you won’t be alone. We support you step by step with:
* Relocation to the Netherlands
* Housing and everyday practical matters
* Registration with official institutions (municipality, BSN number, health insurance, bank account)
* Integration into Dutch working and daily life, including language learning assistance
Our goal is for you to feel at home as soon as possible—both at work and outside of it.
**Want to Know What It’s Really Like?** You won’t be the first to take this step: over 150 Peruvian colleagues have done so before you and now happily work at BAS World. Especially for candidates from Peru, we have prepared a video that best illustrates what it means to work and live at BAS in the Netherlands. Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/Xq24S40JyBY
