Collaborate with data engineering, architecture, and analytics teams DESCRIPTION A leading financial sector institution is seeking a **Data Governance Engineer** to join its COE Data team, playing a key role in the technical implementation of data governance within the bank. This area aims to ensure effective execution of the data strategy by defining, automating, and integrating data governance processes, controls, and tools—guaranteeing long-term scalability, traceability, and sustainability. **Key Responsibilities:** * Translate strategic and functional data governance definitions into implementable technical solutions. * Design, develop, and deploy data governance processes and controls within data platforms and pipelines. * Automate data quality, traceability, compliance, and monitoring controls, reducing reliance on manual tasks. * Integrate capabilities such as data catalog, metadata management, data lineage, and observability across the data ecosystem. * Ensure proper operational execution of data governance by defining how controls are implemented, maintained, and monitored. * Collaborate closely with data engineering, architecture, and analytics teams to ensure adoption of data governance practices. * Identify improvement opportunities and incorporate new technological capabilities to strengthen data governance. * Adopt advanced automation solutions and AI-powered use cases to optimize efficiency and scalability. * Support strategic data initiatives, ensuring alignment with data governance guidelines. REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields. **Minimum experience:** * 5–10 years in data environments, or * 4\+ years in technical data governance roles, or * Experience working with data engineering, data architecture, or analytical platform teams. *Experience in organizations with complex data ecosystems or technology consulting firms is highly valued.* **Technical Knowledge:** Practical knowledge of: * Data Quality * Metadata Management * Data Lineage * Traceability and Observability * Understanding of data architectures, pipelines, and technical integrations (mandatory). * Experience designing and implementing data governance controls. * Process and control automation (mandatory). * Experience with data catalog and governance tools (preferred). * Knowledge of data governance operational models (execution, maintenance, and monitoring). * Familiarity with technological trends, including advanced automation and AI-based solutions (preferred).
