Job Summary: SGS is seeking a Chemical Engineer to coordinate and supervise a laboratory, ensuring compliance with quality standards and the validity of results. Key Responsibilities: 1. Coordination and supervision of the chemical laboratory. 2. Ensuring the quality and validity of analyses. 3. In Peru, we operate across most economic sectors—including mining, agriculture, and fisheries—forming part of the value chain for their products and services. **Job Description** * Ensure compliance with the NTP\-ISO/IEC 17025 standard by verifying adherence to the guidelines established by the assigned client’s laboratory. * Validate analysis reports and approve their conformity according to the Laboratory’s established quality criteria for test methods (ensuring validity) and authorize issuance of the test report in LIMS. * Organize, schedule, and supervise the work of the assigned team, aligning with client-defined priorities and required operational conditions. * Coordinate with the direct supervisor regarding timely procurement of consumables and supplies necessary for laboratory activities. * Provide technical support, training, and coaching to the assigned team to ensure understanding of procedures, instructions, and work methods, thereby guaranteeing the quality of reported results. * Perform other similar duties as directed by the Employer or hierarchical superior based on operational needs and requirements. * Ensure the safety of the working team **Requirements** * A qualified, registered, and licensed Chemical Engineer with at least three (3) years of experience in coordination and/or supervision of a chemical laboratory. * Comprehensive knowledge of all stages of chemical analysis for samples including heads, concentrates, tailings, and solutions—covering digestion, volumetric analysis, AAS instrument readings, and result validation. * Strong analytical and evaluative skills regarding information. * Commitment to continuous improvement in laboratory activities to optimize processes. * Excellent communication skills at all levels and a results-oriented mindset. * Implementation of methods together with the quality team. * Proficiency in MS Office and intermediate-level English.
