Company Description
\-Anglo American, in partnership with Mitsubishi Corporation, is developing the Quellaveco mining operation—one of the world’s largest copper deposits—located in the Moquegua region in southern Peru.
Quellaveco will have a 30-year reserve life. It will use open-pit mining and flotation processes to produce copper concentrates, as well as molybdenum and silver as by-products. Quellaveco is expected to produce an average of 300,000 tonnes of copper per year during its first 10 years of operation.

Job Description
\-Anglo American is seeking a Medium-Term Mining Planning Engineer.
Develop and control mining projects, designs, and plans at five-year, annual, and monthly scales, aiming to achieve optimal design and economic value, and also provide technical support to mining operations for implementing medium- and long-term mining plans (LoAP).
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:**
* Promote safety to achieve Zero Harm to people, equipment, and infrastructure.
* Comply with and enforce Anglo American’s Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) Policies and Procedures (e.g., Risk Control Program, Visible Leadership, others), controlling and preventing actions and conditions that could result in harm to one’s own or others’ health or safety.
* Apply Analysis and Improvement methodologies to identify root causes of undesired events and implement improvement plans within one’s area.
* Maintain continuous communication with mining and mining planning departments to coordinate timely information collection and service delivery to the mine.
* Develop mining plans, including related projects and designs.
* Safely, effectively, and efficiently develop and maintain procedures for tasks under one’s responsibility.
* Develop mine planning in accordance with established policies and aligned with the Long-Term Plan (LoAP).
* Promote and participate in innovation and optimization of mining planning processes.
* Monitor and provide technical support for proper execution of mining plans.
* Prepare reports to track activity compliance.
* Provide foundational information for preparing and developing medium- and long-term plans.
* Estimate requirements for mining equipment.
* Develop alternative designs for mining phases, final pit configuration, and dumps or stockpiles.
**SHE FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**
* Know and apply Anglo American Quellaveco’s values, principles, and SHE Policy, contributing to its vision of Zero Harm.
* Comply with and enforce legal requirements and other commitments assumed by Anglo American Quellaveco, internal Management System standards, procedures, regulations, as well as training, awareness, and Zero Harm culture-building meetings.
* Ensure implementation of controls for identified SHE hazards and risks at the workplace to enable safe work execution.
* Promptly report unsafe acts and conditions, as well as incidents.
* Ensure continual improvement in Safety, Occupational Health, and Environmental Management.
**Qualifications
\-EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS**
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Mining Engineering
**EXPERIENCE**
* Minimum 2 years of experience in mining planning tasks within mining projects and/or medium- and large-scale mining operations.
* Intermediate-level English language proficiency desirable
* Valid driver’s license desirable
* Expert-level proficiency in mining design and planning software.
**SHE COMPETENCIES**
* Knowledge and experience in Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) Management, considering applicable legal regulations for the mining sector.
* Knowledge and experience in incident investigation.
* Knowledge and experience in identifying SHE hazards and risks and proposing effective controls.
