Job Description
A mining-sector company is seeking a Blasting Supervisor for a rock-blasting project using explosives in surface and underground mining.
We seek a Mining Engineer with field experience, responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising explosive loading and blasting activities, ensuring operational safety, adherence to technical standards, and achievement of production targets.
**Main Responsibilities**
* Plan, coordinate, and supervise explosive loading and surface/underground blasting activities.
* Develop and review blast pattern designs, sequencing, and blasting parameters.
* Supervise proper handling, storage, and use of explosives and accessories.
* Verify safety conditions before, during, and after each blast.
* Coordinate with the SSOMA department to ensure compliance with safety procedures and standards.
* Monitor production progress, fragmentation, performance, and explosive consumption.
* Lead and supervise blasting crews.
* Prepare technical reports, results reports, and consumption controls.
* Propose improvements to optimize fragmentation, performance, and operating costs.
* Ensure compliance with current regulations related to mining safety and explosive use.
**Requirements**
* Licensed, registered, and authorized Mining Engineer — mandatory.
* Minimum 3 years of blasting supervision experience, counted from registration date.
* Demonstrable experience in surface and underground blasting.
* Knowledge of drill pattern and blasting design.
* Experience in explosive control, results evaluation, and technical report preparation.
* Experience leading operational personnel and blasting crews.
* Familiarity with mining safety regulations and provisions applicable to explosive use.
* Availability to work under a 14 × 7 schedule at Chapi Mine.
**Working Conditions**
* Meals and accommodation provided within the mining camp.
* Transportation provided on the Arequipa – Mine – Arequipa route.
* Project duration approximately ten months or longer.

Salary: Starting from S/.7,000\.00 per month
